  1. I'm getting ready for hockey season to start, but bummed about Jordan Staal -- we wish him a good and 100% recovery. If you are looking for some action - athletic action - come down to Woody's tonight -- it's got every thing you want - world class athletes and lots of body checking -- they even do one thing the same as hockey - but I'll keep that a secret... The Grand Final is the Australian Football League's version of the Super Bowl-- Broadcast live at Woody's @ City Market 205 Wolfe St., Raleigh Hosted by the NC Tigers. The Party will begin around 11:00 p.m. TV coverage begins at 12:30 a.m. For more information: http://www.nctigers.com The North Carolina Australian Football Club is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The club was organized in 1998 to teach, promote, and foster local, national, and international amateur sports competition through the sport of Australian Rules Football. Australian Rules Football, or 'footy' as it is colloquially known, is a physical contact sport unlike any sport played in America, but which combines best elements of ice hockey, basketball, soccer, and football to make for a fast paced, exciting and highly skilled game. If you can't make it out for the game, set your DVR to the Fox Soccer Channel -- they will show the game live! LaRose is making a comeback!
  2. I put this year's refunded season ticket money toward a motorcycle and a nice gift for my wife.... But when hockey does get started again, I'm not running back -- I'm taking my turn to go on strike -- if the NHL resumes the season, I'm at least skipping the rest of the season. If they skip this season, I'm skipping the entire next season. On a side note -- if you are on Facebook, you have to un-like the NHL, all teams, and all players... The little things add up.
  3. There are not too many things you can do to show your frustration. You can cancel your season tickets... If you are not ready to do that, then if you are on Facebook, you have to at least un-like the NHL, all teams, and all players... The little things add up... But when hockey does get started again, you can't go running back - you take your turn to go on strike...
  4. Got my check the other day -- already put it toward a new motorcycle... I've gone on strike also -- if the NHL resumes the season, I'm skipping the rest of the season. If they skip this season, I'm skipping the entire next season. On a side note -- if you are on Facebook, you have to un-like the NHL, all teams, and all players...
  5. Been a mini-plan holder since the 2001-02 season -- just put in a request for a full refund... I've got other things to do while the players & owners get their heads screwed on straight (didn't they learn anything during the 2004-05 season?) Guess I'll have to wait til March - when real sport begins again -- it's the start of the Aussie Rules Football season... (Australian Football League)
  6. I could not believe my complete credit card information came through on the attachment of my confirmation e-mail from echosign. Let's just say I'm disappointed!
  7. It's going to be shown live on ESPN Classic (11:30 p.m. tonight) and "tape" delayed on ESPN2 (I think at 1:00 a.m??) So set your DVR
  8. Come out to Woody's tonight for some non-stop football action -- Aussie Rules Football that is -- The Grand Final is tonight & it's being broadcast live -- The Canes game will end around 9:30, that'll give you enough time to get down to Woody's by 11:00 For more info: http://www.nctigers.com Australian Football, or 'footy' as it is colloquially known, is a physical contact sport unlike any sport played in America, but which combines best elements of basketball, soccer, and football to make for a fast paced, exciting and highly skilled game. (there's even a little ice hockey thrown in) - - - - -
  9. Way to go Sharks!! Talk about a perfect two-on-one break -- I did a little end zone dance last night!!!
  10. The website has a new banner -- it's pretty cool -- not to mention I'm in the background picture... I'll be out there bright and early Saturday Morning...
  11. I was wondering the same thing -- I think he played in one game in the first round and he had a zero plus/minus -- so he couldn't have messed up? Anybody else know anything?
  12. See you out there tomorrow... Aussie Rules & Hockey -- the best sports around!
  13. I recorded a late night Canes/Sharks game earlier in the season and for some reason, it did not record... Quite embarrassed, because I had a buddy and his family over to watch the game the next day because we are both also Sharks fans... I was on with technical support for ~30 minutes and they were no help. (ended up getting the score from nhl.com and watching "We are Marshall") Long story short, it turned out that I was starting to record too early. If coverage starts at 7:00, start your DVR to start at 7:00, not 6:58 or 6:59. I did that and have no more problems... with those Fox Sports channels, before coverage starts, there is that "Dish Network" screen, my theory is the DVR thinks you picked the wrong channel or there's a problem with the channel and does not record. I love my DVR and this is the only problem I have ever had. Anyway, give it a try on something on Fox Sports tonight, but be sure there is nothing on before it so it will have that "Dish Network" screen.
  14. Time is short, there's only a couple of weeks left... http://www.nctigers.com/raffle (NC Tigers vs. NY Magpies, June 13, 2009)
