HURRICANES RE-ACQUIRE VASICEK CAROLINA SENDS BELANGER TO NASHVILLE Less than a full season after sending Josef Vasicek to Nashville for Scott Walker, Carolina has today re-acquired the 6'5 center in exchange for center Eric Belanger. Vasicek played the first 316 games of his career for Carolina, scoring 126 points over five seasons.

  4. I worry more about this team moving away from our area. It seems that the fans only stand behind them when we are winning. It could be worse..we could have not won a Stanley Cup At All. I know the team needs to improve and Im sure they know as well..But don't you think it would be easier for them to do that if they knew that they have strong support from the fans..We are not going to win all the time. Please stand behind them so they can work on trying to fix whats broke! Or we may not have a team to go watch at the RBC Center...

They objected strongly to the original, tucked-in concept because it would have taken away the hurricane-flag motif along the bottom of their jersey, but think their look will transition easily to the new style. "Our jerseys may look a little different because they're more streamlined," Rutherford said. "But for the most part they won't change that much." But the launch of the new uniforms will delay the introduction of a third, alternate Carolina jersey -- black, with the secondary flag logo replacing the swirling-storm logo. The Canes were hoping to unveil those this fall, but Rutherford said they'll be pushed back to fall 2008 at the earliest.
