  1. The Canes are rebuilding and have still managed a .500 record. Compared to the Oilers or the Islanders, Mo has done a good job of putting a competitive team on the ice. But this topic is not about Mo... as far as the Canes making the playoffs, I don't think they will. But you never know, down the stretch, the Canes could pick up their game and some of the teams above us could falter. That's hockey.
  2. The coach is doing a good job, you are just being a troll.
  3. I say we wait and see who makes the team out of training camp before we try and figure out lines. We got a lot of guys fighting for spots, and none of them are guaranteed to play.
  4. LaRose was injured for almost 30 games and still had 11 goals last year (his career high is 19)...where were you? But, back to the point...I think it will be Gleason and Cole. Remember that the A's are the only other players who can talk to the refs, so you gotta go with the veterans.
  5. As much as I like Pitkanen, our defense looks more like an offense. McBain, Babchuck, and Pitkanen are lethal at the point...our only developed stay at home dman is gleason...and he can't be on the ice all the time. I think if a trade for Staal's rights or an offer sheet would help shore up our defense.
  6. I would love it if FS broadcastedmore games...sadly Center Ice is not available on campus.
  7. The reason thy put Cole on that line is because Staal and Cole play well together. As for what the organization sees in him is he's a big body who can move fast. Much against his luck, Cole has been injured a lot. He did a a few great scoring chances against Pheonix...but like everyone else, the puck wouldn't go for him. You want to see Cole's true skill and power? Watch how he can drive to the net and push the defensmen out of the way. Not many players are that strong, especially at his speed.
  8. 7 pts out with 19 to play...this may just be a nail biter if they keep plaing so well. It's so jammed up in the eastern conference, they just need to keep it together
  9. [quote name='Duke-ch1 wrote: pilige']My sister saw the hit...and this is her opinion as an EMT and as a med student: She believes that tucker was probally playing the injury up. she could tell by the way his head hit the class all he would have is a concussion. that and he was lifting his head when he was being checked over...you cant exactly do that if ur neck is broken. it wouldnt surprise me if tucker did play possum based on his past behavior of cheap shots. lets face it, dirty players will do anything Talking cheap! That is certainly a cheap sleezy comment. one, thats her opinion, and 2, tucker is a dirty player.

  11. i dont think a suspension is warranted. It looked like any other hit, Tucker just wasnt ready for it. At most it warranted a 2 min penalty. ther was no maliciousness or intent to injur. Read the wording of the rule, intent to injur or maliciousness. this was just a mistimed check. ruutu didnt try and put him through the 3rd row of seats, he was just finishing his check.
  12. The pattern ive noticed is number one goalies of elite levels play closer to 70 games. I think Cam can handle it and it may move him to the next level
