  1. Regardless of the ranking, that's fun to watch. I won't argue which is better they are all great.

You do notice a recurring theme though.. the cross crease, back door pass/shot worked to perfection multiple times. Samsonov to Staal, Pitkanen to Jokinen, Samsonov to Jokinen, Cullen (behind the back!) to Whitney.. over and over the bang bang plays with precision passing.. that's something we have lacked in years past, and even struggled with some the last two years, but its awesome when it works (hence the top 10 list).. lets hope we can bank more of those this year...

*Holy Cow.. I just watched the last couple and saw the Pitkanen to Staal, behind the goalline, behind the GOALIE, through the crease pass for the Hat Trick.. unbelievable!!

    Is it hockey season YET???

    that pass was by Walker

  2. You're joking right? The last thing we need now is Eaves back.

It was just a salary dump for them so they have the cap to resign Kessel, nothing more.

he's shown spurts of how he can play, he's got a great wrist shot and if he's healthy and actually played on a scoring line i think he would be able to produce, he's shown that he can be a 20 goal scorer.

  3. I would first make sure your web browser is up to date.

Secondly I would make sure your flash player is up to date, you should have Adobe Flash player v. 10 as the latest.

See if you can view it in a different web browser such as firefox, chrome, safari, ect.

i downloaded safari and when i go to the same page there's a pop up that says "The page "NHL Network Online - Carolina Hurricanes" has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2". Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed. Do you want to open an Apple page that may help you find a plug-in to download and install?"

it gave me a list of options to download (quicktime, flash, windows media player, and more) i downloaded the quicktime and the flash and it still says the same thing, im about to download the windows media player one

now when i open it, it does the same thing without that pop up..

and i do have flash player 10

  4. From TheFourthperiod.com:

    Hurricanes won't mortgage future

The Carolina Hurricanes remain in limbo as the trade deadline approaches, neither a seller nor a buyer, reports the Raleigh News & Observer.

According to the paper, the Hurricanes won't make any significant changes to their roster because of their position in the standings.

The Hurricanes rank 10th in the Eastern Conference, just one point out of a playoff spot. Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford is not expected to deal away top prospects or high draft picks for a quick fix, thus mortgaging part of the team's future.

At the same time, Rutherford isn't likely to move some of his assets and risk missing the playoffs altogether.

The Hurricanes are believed to be interested in a second-line winger, but aren't likely to give up their first-round draft pick.

man i really hope they make a move..

With just over 24 hours until the NHL's Trade Deadline, teams were very busy attempting to clear space under the salary cap.

A scan of the NHL's waiver wire on Tuesday revealed that several high profile players have been placed on waivers.

The Pittsburgh Penguins placed two-time All-Star Miroslav Satan on waivers. The 34-year old has been a disappointment in his first year in Pittsburgh after signing a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Pens this past offseason. The veteran sniper has 17 goals and 19 assists in 64 games this season. The Pens hoped he would be a good fit on the wing with Sidney Crosby, but the two never really clicked as linemates.

Also, the Ducks placed Brendan Morrison on waivers. The 33-year-old has 10 goals and 12 assists in 61 games with the Ducks.

Morrison's situation differs from Satan's, in the sense that the Ducks need the space under the salary cap for players returning from injury following the deadline.

If the Ducks are able to make trades to clear up the necessary space before Wednesday's deadline, they will be able to keep the veteran pivot. If they are unable to make a deal, they will be forced to assign Morrison to the AHL where he would be subjected to re-entry waivers if the Ducks would like to get him back.

Veteran forward Gary Roberts was also placed on waivers after only 30 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Several teams are reportedly interested in the 42-year-old, including Calgary where Roberts first played and captured the Stanley Cup in 1989.

The Ottawa Senators once again placed goaltender Martin Gerber on waivers to see if there are any takers for the Swiss netminder. Gerber has been playing with the Binghamton Senators of the AHL for the past few weeks.

The Sens also placed defenceman Brenden Bell on waivers.

Other names of interest include the New York Rangers' Aaron Voros and Erik Reitz, Eric Perrin of the Thrashers, the Blackhawks' Craig Adams and Jon Sim of the Islanders.

In addition the Calgary Flames claimed defenceman Lawrence Nycholat off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks. This will be the well-travelled Nycholat's fourth team in three seasons.

  6. Trade Gleeson after that STUPID slashing penalty, I swear that has to be one of the dumbest penalty's of all time that cost us a point and maybe even 2. He better buy the whole team and coaching staff along with all the poor caniacs that had to see that God awful 3rd period. Trade the whole Defense after the way they played last night!! JR is so interested in getting offensive Dman that they actually forget how to play D!! The way we played last night against a bad team that we have to beat, we don't even deserve to make the playoffs and wont go far if we do. I agree with djharley, if the front office doesn't make a trade, they're content with not making the playoffs which is un exceptable. I still have faith in the boys, but someone needs to tell them they need to play D for a whole 60 minutes and stop leaving their goalie out to dry!!

This is also very interesting!! Kaberle and Kaberle?

thank you! i honestly think gleason is overrated, he wiffs every shot and takes stupid penalties, and he doesnt seem like the greatest personality in the locker room.. but that's just my opinion
