  1. Idk if anybody has said this yet, but what about 42. That was Timmy's number in LA
  2. Does anyone remember two seasons ago when Eric Staal got in a fight with someone and lost horribly? Then at the next faceoff, Doug Weight stood up for him and took down another guy. That was good stuff.
  3. I think Brent Sopel will become the next target. He may not be the puck mover some of the other guys are but he has good offensive instincts and plays a smart game overall. Agreed. Sopel had 28 points last year, more than any of our defensemen. He could be a second powerplay quarterback along with Kaberle. He'd play the point with Whitney while Kaberle would play with Hamilton. No, the other way around actually. Yes, Kaberle and Sopel would be the first and second unit PP QB's and though neither is premier, it would still be a nice upgrade. Whitney wouldn't be in that mix though because he doesn't play the point. He plays along the half-wall on the PP. oh, my mistake. would it be hamilton and staal or hamilton and Stillman
  4. I always thought that was Carter What about Mike Sillinger?
  5. what source, you know mine. I'm not going to reveal it, but it is a person is friends with Marty.
  6. I like them more now that they've revealed the white ones.

  8. Hey!! Wake up and smell the roses. Jeff Hamilton had 39 points last year on the worst team in hockey, the Chicago Blackhawks. That was more than Vasicek and Letowski combined, two of the guys we brought in to replace Matt Cullen. Hamilton has a lot of offensive upside, and Eklund on hockeybuzz.com, who contributes to XM, says that this guy would be a million dollar steal for whoever got him. We got him for less than a million. Frantisek Kaberle is this team's best offensive defenseman. Note that I didn't say the best overall defenseman because he isn't. Last year was a wake-up year, the one where we realized we weren't invincible after all. This is kind of like Ocean's Tweleve compared to Ocean's Eleven. It had pretty much the same makeup but was worse.
  9. agreed shane, i think that ladd could also be one of those lads who does some stuff physically. brookbank is another jesse boulerice
  10. I like the Hurricanes Live thing and the Seidenberg love. I think that if he's given a chance he can be the next Frank Kaberle for us, and we all know how that turned out.
  11. Not exactly a 'Canes player but a past nuisance: Torres signs for three years with Edmonton for $6.75 million.
  12. I think those are good lines. I think Rosey plays well at center and Letowski on wing. That really worked nicely for a while when Lavi had the lines that way. I think the defensive pairing would work with: Wallin - Wesley Kaberle - Hutch Commodore - Gleason Seidenberg - Hedican but obviously that is just my opinion You know what, i like those pairings In Wallin-Wesley, you got a solid defensie duo. Kaberle and Hutch is a good offensive pair. Commodore-Gleason is two younger guys with some grit. Seidenberg could learn a lot being with Hedican. Nice point!
  13. Aucoin is an AHLer, he will never be an NHL player. Not sure why people think he can be. He's 28 years old and has yet to crack the big leagues. He just isn't going to. When he is brought up, he can't stay cause he's just not NHL caliber material. When Craig Adams and Chad LaRose got the call up, they did something to impress cause they stayed and never went back. Aucoin is just your good AHLer, but will never crack the NHL lineup full time. Hey Piekv, I'll send you some Gleason videos via PM for you to check out later tonight. Well, I see what you're saying. But Aucoin hasn't really been in the best system. We have four solid lines that won't change that much until someone is traded or retires.
  14. The News and Observer back in '02 when they reported him moving on to Florida. I remember it clearly because I thought it sucked that he thought so little of the team and fans. Gelinas loved it here. He went to Calgary from here, not to Florida, because the Flames offered him a three-year deal. The Hurricanes only offered two, and didn't offer him a raise. He had a chance to come back to Carolina after the lockout from Calgary...Rutherford told his agent he wanted to sign him, but at the same time he got an offer from Florida (which had already signed Nieuwendyk & Roberts, indicating the team was looking to improve). Mike Keenan put a lot of pressure on Gelinas to sign, giving him little time to consider the deal. Rutherford needed a few days to structure things to bring Gelinas back, but Keenan needed an answer. So Marty went to Florida. Marty will likely end up back in the Western Conference for two more years, then retire. This is from my source.
  15. yeah i can see how you thought that. dude, do you have something against me?
