  1. There really is a Santa Claus and he goes by the name JR!!! Also... please tell me there are no more Kaberle boys that play hockey!
  2. I have two tickets plus general parking pass for Sunday's game. Gametime : 5:00PM Section 314, Row K, Seats 9 & 10 Price $20 each I'll take $30 for both with parking pass.
  3. I have two tickets plus general parking pass for tonight's game. Section 314, Row K, Seats 9 & 10 Price $20 each I'll take $30 for both with parking pass.
  4. J. Willy is a free agent at the end of the year... If he's not signed somewhere, then JR will have an opportunity to recycle once again.
  5. Honestly... I wouldn't mind seeing Williams back, if he can stay healthy. He was one of a few that wasn't afraid to get in front of the goalie AND STAY THERE!!!! Concerning Stillman, glad he's back for the hockey smarts. Hope he can bring something to the ice. I think this is only part of a bigger move. Perhaps moving a couple of UFA forwards for some defensemen.
  6. I for one won't question JR's sanity... A couple of areas improve. Size, 6'-2" & 200#. Faceoffs above 50%. They move two guys in Charlotte to make room for somebody to go down while freeing up the money to pay Carter. The Ducks have been a pretty physical team and with the pick up of Carter and Bodie that will hopefully make a difference for the Canes. We need somebody willing to get in there and be a deterrent to those wanting to take liberties... And maybe these moves are all it takes.
  7. I agree 100%, Remkin. As bad as it seems for the fans, I'm sure O'Sullivan is thinking and feeling worse. But I would also hope that he can see his way clear to go down to Charlotte and bust his rump and prove to the Canes that he belongs in the NHL. Maybe he'll go down and light it up, work on the other aspects of the game and knock the rust off, he can't do that on the 4th line here in Raleigh. Then when the time comes and we have an injury, JR hopefully will call him up and he'll make the best of it.
  8. Yep... Knew it would be a lame excuse... The only thing black & white about the officials & their calls, are their uniforms....
  9. Had trouble getting in too earler this week. I ended up changing my password because there were too few letters, needed 6+. Still gave me issues but got in today. If you go to add Jeff Skinner, be sure to capitalize the first letter. For some reason it would show up if you started typing in lower case, but if you enter the name it would say didn't exist... Typed it in with upper case letters and it found him.
  10. Interesting indeed... With all the forwards they have, what's on JR's mind? I do like his size. Maybe he's the net presence the team needs? That size should be hard to push around. He's also big enough to stand up to the thugs of the league.
  11. As a life long southerner who initally though "eeeh... hockey ain't for me" but through the years has grown to love it and who now has a young Caniac who is nuts over the Hurricanes, stories like this help confirm that hockey players are special. I also think the southern hospitality that we extend to the players are another reason we have so many sticking around, visiting and wishing to come back. I wish Zach "Bug" Bennett good luck fighting the disorder and hope we see him and his family at an upcoming Hurricanes game and a "fixture" in Charlotte.
  12. Hey... I don't care what the man's hair looks like as long as he works hard and finds the back of the net some... From the smile on his face, he's having fun.
  13. Good luck with it Mike, hope all goes well. My wife had Gastric Bypass at Duke the last week of July and so far has lost about 70 lbs. Get ready for a new wardrobe!!! PS, can I have your Stanley Cup ring??? It'll be WAY too big!!!! Dwight
  14. Any idea on price of larger chairs? Nothing has to be set in stone, just have to convince the other half... I'd be interested in two of the large & one standard or a "youth" model if one is available...
  15. Yeah, now Cam has to worry about him getting in front of the net for 8 games. I had told a coworker that I wish JR & PK would find a way to bring him to the Canes. Imagine him coming down and parking in front of the goalie, blocking the view and snagging rebounds... Something the Canes just can't seem to accomplish...
  16. Mike, it is US who should be thanking you, Ron, Stormy and the Storm Squad for all that you folk do! I have a 4 year old that every time he see you folks he waves and smiles and ya'll make him feel like he's the only kid around. YOU are the special ones. And I know I apprecate you folks. We'll see you next season... GO CANES!
  17. Total points - 83Total wins - 36 Place to finish - 13th Most points - Jokinen Plus/minus - Carson (at least he earned his through playing with the Canes...) Jussi - 62 points
  18. We've all seen Ovechkin leave his feet many times to make a hit, and Cooke's blindsides...There have been way too many injuries to way too many good, decent (read fair play) players. Something has to be done to the likes of these goons. I know the players association won't stand for it, but I think the league should punish the offending player with a suspension of a minimum of three games, with additional suspensions adding to additional time off the ice, regardless of type of hit. If it's a major boarding, slew-foot, knee-on-knee, doesn't matter, if you're suspended once and get another suspension, then it's more games regardless of type of hit or time between illegal hits... Three strikes in a season & you're out for remainder of season. And make it bad on the team, they can't fill the vacated roster spot during the suspensions. Something like this will give these dirty players something to consider while they line up their next victim in their sights.
  19. I can't agree more.... Scott Walker was as tough as they come on the ice and the exact opposite off the ice. Quiet and reserved but always had a minute for an autograph or picture for the kids. I will always consider him a Cane, regardless of where he's at. I hope to see him hoist the Cup this year... Even if it means "Over-done-Chicken" gets to as well... Thanks for all the memories Scott and good luck in your pursuit of Lord Stanley's Cup!!!!
  20. Hey... we're still in the race. The Canes just sent Cam Wardback to Raleigh for an unspecified upper body injury. Sending him home probably means it could be serious. The Canes have been relying on Cam to give them a chance, with him out, that means Legace and Peters in goal things are going to get a lot more interesting.... I think Peters should get a start tonight or tomorrow... And, with Kovy traded to NJ, Whitney's trade shouldn't be far off...
  21. And wouldn't it be nice if Cole laid Ollie out on his first shift... Welcome "Home" Erik, I personally wish you and the CANES lots of luck for the rest of the season.
  22. Hey folks, lets give this thing a chance to play out. There were lots of people upset that Cole was traded for Pitkanen when that trade was made. Was it worth it? Not for me to say, Pitkanen has had his good & bad. For now at least, we bring in someone who is familiar with the system, most of the other players, the coaches, GM, owner and the area and is ready to step out on the ice and play. He can easily pair up with Staal and it may be the spark that they both need put some points up. Unfortunately, Williams has been injured and hasn't played up to his healthy potential. Believe me, I wish there had been another way to bring Cole back than trade Williams (my wife is very upset). Who knows, maybe Erik will think about the cold Edmonton winter and decide that NC is a nice place to live, work and retire and give us a hometown discount when it comes time to talk contract. If it doesn't work out and Cole leaves for more money at least JR did something to try to improve the club in the interm to make the playoffs. If he had done nothing there would have still been plenty of "what was JR thinking posts"...
