  1. I want the mutilated chicken. That may be the first thing I try. LOL It just sounds so appetizing.
  2. I've shown it before. LOL I jump up and down in my chair when we score. Rather amusing. Go Team Finland!
  3. Hopefully Joni learned his lesson. He is right about the game, and it will be very good. I will have it on my computer while at work...I won't miss this game!
  4. [quote name='v1atlantis wrote: GhoulieGirl wrote: v1atlantis']Looking forward to that too. I promise to keep my celebrations very subtle if we manage to win this. The lines have been drawn between friends here. Most of my friends are for USA, while I am pulling for Team Finland. Well , don´t fall into pits of despair and melancholy if we don´t win. Your friends won´t probably forget to rub it in your face if we lose the game tonight , right? I won't do that, but trust me, it will be shoved into my face. I would love for the Finns to win. I know it's going to be a hard fought game. That being said, Go Team Finland!

  7. [quote name='v1atlantis wrote: GhoulieGirl']Looks like I will definitely have to try Moose while I'm there. Got any other recommendations? The only vodka I've tried is Finlandia. They sell that here, believe it or not. I was shocked. Very yummy. I love the weather explanation. I needed a good laugh this morning. YAY!!! When you´re here you just have to try Koskenkorva. It´s our national drink. Every friday we buy few bottles of it and then we spend our night like this: . I've seen several people have nights like that, including me. LOL I doubt I will be in Finland long enough to appreciate your other list.
  8. I'm glad that Joni did apologize. At least he realizes what he did was wrong. I just hope we win today! Go Finns!!!

  10. [quote name='v1atlantis wrote: GhoulieGirl wrote: dinz']perhaps u too could meet for lunch??never know.. You never know, but I am not one to force or push and issue. I love meeting new people, making new friends, and experiencing new cultures. I spent a year in South Korea, thanks to Uncle Sam and the US Army, and what a great experience it was for me. I am hoping for the same experience in Finland. A nice vacation away from here and seeing hockey games. I want to have enough time to sight see and really experience the culture. Oh and trying new foods is always a plus. Hard lesson learned, don't let friends order for you while you have to step away. You'll never know what you'll get. I have some recipes for Finnish desserts, but no main dishes. Guess I need to get a cook book. Probably won't the same as authentic, but still good. I think reindeer may be close to our deer meat. I could be wrong though. Yeah , you know stranger things have happened . The lunch is on me , if we somehow manage to find some time for it. Deer meat is indeed very similar to reindeer. Moose hunting season begins here in last weekend of september , so i may have to take you with me to do some hunting, too. Sounds like a plan to me. I'm sure we should have some time to spare. My uncle is an avid hunter. He hunts deer. I've never seen a real moose in person. LOL
  11. Joni was a bad, bad boy. I would think that if we win this game, Joni would be able to play in the next one wouldn't he? He was suspended for the quarterfinals. I do agree with the suspension though. right call by everyone involved.

  13. Not sure how long the packages are going to be for the trip. I am hoping to hear something next week or so. It will be nice to experience a new culture and stuff. Besides, it's not every day I can get picked on for slaughtering a language. Apparently I'm not too bad. Most of my posters I take to the games here are in Finnish and haven't been laughed at yet. LOL The guys loved one poster, but I can't put it here. The Finns loved it, and that's all that mattered. It was my very first Finnish Poster.
  14. Hopefully he doesn't do that. You have your holiday, so take it! What's he going to do when we open our season there? Man, I'm so looking forward to this trip in October.
  15. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it. I'll gladly take on the challenge.
  16. Sounds like me. My connection is at work while I sit in my chair to make sure it won't move. LOL
  17. More like the second one except it's a hard top. The car color is Oxygen Blue, and the Finnish flag stripes are Olympic Blue. The mirrors and roof are white, so there wasn't much to do, but to just add the two stripes. Flow MINI of Raleigh was supposed to add my car to their Facebook page. Everyone was taking pictures of it on Friday when it got done. I have pics of it on my phone, but didn't take the camera to it. It looks really sharp.
  18. [quote name='v1atlantis wrote: GhoulieGirl']I will say that I would defend Pitkanen for elbows on a height differential, but I can't for this. He gets more than a dang it Joni. I am hoping next game will be better. Does anyone know what happens in the Olympics if you get thrown out of a game? Honestly, if Pitkanen doesn't play next game, I wouldn't be surprised. Dang diddly dang it Joni. I think that was a dirty hit. But this is the way it usually goes when we play against Sweden. Our players panic , go into overdrive and do something like this. LOL. Yup, that's about it. Frustration kicks in and these things happen. I know they wanted to win this game and I really wanted them to win too. Joni should have used more restraint and not lead with that elbow. I agree, dirty hit. I guess he played his last game for the Olympics. Hard lesson for him to learn. Joni doesn't deserve to see my Finnished Car now. I finally got the stripes put on MINI to represent the Finland flag. It looks awesome. Now to get pics of it. LOL
  19. [quote name='v1atlantis wrote: GhoulieGirl wrote: v1atlantis'] When you can understand ,verbatim , what he is saying , then you´re ready I am in so much trouble. LOL I have a long ways to go! Yea , but i have faith in you. You can do it. Kittos! Now if my ISP would work when I want it to at home. LOL
