  1. NHL ready and proven 30 goal scorer are just a little bit different. Also I would imagine if Philly is trading Coburn it would be as a cost saving measure. Don't quote me on that part though.
  2. So you fire a coach that hasn't even had a full NHL training camp? Do you "fire" the entire team when they don't respond to Tortorella's abrasive style?
  3. Patrick Roy told Joe Sakic today that the team needs to study the possibility of trading the team first round pick in a month.- Renaud Lavoie on twitter
  4. Apparently Ryan Murphy has been recalled from Kitchener effective immediately. Canes Recall Ryan Murphy from Kitchener Rangers Forward Tim Brent placed on injured reserve Thursday, 02.21.2013 / 9:15 AM / News By Terrell Williams Murphy RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Ryan Murphy from the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) on an emergency basis. The team also placed center Tim Brent on injured reserve, retroactive to Feb. 14. Murphy, 19, has skated in 46 OHL games for Kitchener this season, ranking first among Rangers defensemen in goals (8) and points (39), and tied for first in assists (31). The Aurora, Ont., native is in his fourth season of junior hockey for Kitchener and represented Canada at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships in Russia earlier this season. Murphy (5’11”, 176 lbs.) attended the Hurricanes’ training camp from Jan. 13-18, prior to being returned to Kitchener. Carolina’s first-round selection, 12th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, he has scored 51 goals and earned 160 assists (211 points) in 220 career OHL regular-season games with Kitchener. Murphy has yet to make his NHL debut.
  5. Really don't understand how this is an issue in the least bit. That's akin to calling the pizza place to complain if your delivery is a minute late.
  6. That team during the '05-'06 season could've made John Grahame look like an All Star.
  7. I went to the Checkers/Admirals games on Sunday. Boychuk definitely didn't look lazy. Made a key defensive play in the slot in the 2nd period. Seemed like he was making stuff happen. A lot of the time he looked like the best player on the ice. Was way more impressed with his game than Dalpe but it was only one game.
  8. This is the 2nd off season Staal is participating in the program. Wish his big bro would consider it.
  9. This is the 2nd off season Staal is participating in the program. Wish his big bro would consider it.
  10. ErIc would look like Jordan Staal if he were Skinner's proportions.
  11. Skinner will make JR look very smart. Semin will be a near PPG player but will miss time due to injury. The Staal Bros experiment will be fantastic to watch. All 3 Finns have bounce back years. Role players will do their jobs to a T because the coaching staff will have them prepared. The D will have to be a committee with certain guys stepping it up. Murphy will be the 7th and sometimes 8th dman. Ward will be solid like always. Little worried about Peters. Should make the playoffs. Anything can happen in the playoffs when you have players like Staal/Staal/Ward/LaRose leading the charge.
  12. Joe Corvo has nothing to do with this trade. It was a win-win for both teams. It's hard to take anything you say seriously when your reading comprehension skills seem to be questionable at best.
  13. Dominic Moore's wife has liver cancer. That will probably play a factor in his destination. Also, where are you getting your info that suggests he's a physical, attitude adjuster?
  14. This move is fantastic because JR was able to procure top line talent without giving up any assets. If the team is in the hunt come January/February I'd almost expect a trade or two to help ensure a deep playoff run.
