  1. These two guys were cheering for both teams. Guy 2 had a Chicago accent. Blackhawks game: Q: (Guy 1-appeared to be cheering for the Canes) That Lindholm kid has been hurt most of the season. (Guy 2- Chicago fan) He played in a pro league where they don't hit much, somewhere in South America, and I guess he can't hold up in the NHL. WTQRM: I don't watch either team, but I know more than you - stupid Canes fans. Even though I failed geography and currently live under a rock, I grew up in the cold where we hate life for 9 months out of the year so I am an expert on all things hockey. A: I didn't realize that Sweden relocated to South America. Interesting factoid, idiot.
  2. NHL 09 on X-box. Canes dominated the season and won the Stanley Cup. Staal won the Conn Smythe.
  3. I ran into Ray at the hair salon I go to right after the end of the Boston series. He was seated next to me. Didn't talk to him though - I figured he'd like to be left alone. Which was really hard for me to keep my mouth shut because Ray is my favorite - just seems like the type of guy that would be fun to have a beer with.
  4. Thank you to the players, coaches, staff and fellow Caniacs. What a thrilling ride. Can't wait until next season!
  5. Wow, this situation has been blow out of proportion. I don't remember all the animosity he talks about. I'm sure we defended Walker who is our player (Ward is not), and I'm sure we simply stated the fact that if A.Ward is going to instigate a fight, he needs to be prepared to be hit. End of story. I'm not going to boo him or really give him another thought. He certainly isn't public enemy number 1 - that's reserved for Ovechkin.
  6. I have an Eastern Conference Champions t-shirt from 01/02 that I wore through the playoffs in 05/06 and to game seven to win the cup. I've been wearing it under my jersey for these playoffs UNTIL last Thursday. I had surgery that day and could barely stand let alone worry about the clothes I had on so no canes shirt, and they played their best game yet! Got to go with what works, so for tonight - no Canes gear. My husband and I have been known to switch seats if a game isn't going very well - break up the mojo. And we can't fly our Canes flags to games because every time we do, they lose. GO CANES!!
  7. Tripp can beat a dead horse like no other - fresh ice, Ward's workout program, Staal/Chara match-up, third man high. Those are just to name a few from the last series. My guess for the ECF, he will obsess over the Staal/Staal matchup, Ward has to be the best penalty killer, and of course, fresh ice.
  8. That was my exact thought about it last night. Double standard. Definately a penalty, but so are 80 percent of OV's hits.
  9. Same thing happened to me. My sales rep responded so quickly to my email that I figured it must have happened to a bunch of STH.
  10. I never gave up on the team, but I thought Babchuck was worthless - doesn't like to check, always looked confused and out of place. I started calling him spork (useless utensil) and ripped on him every game. Boy was I wrong. Although, he still does need to throw his size around more.

  12. MY FEET HURT - that ran through my head a few times during game 7. Williams empty netter is my favorite - it removed my stomach from my throat and stopped the heart palpitations.
  13. Exactly. The players don't move around that much during the anthem and considering they are mostly not from the U.S., I believe they do a good job of showing respect. I find the yelling by U.S. citizens during the anthem of "red", "O" or whatever, much more disrespectful. BUT that's my opinion. Just as I choose to put my hand over my heart during the anthem, the freedom this nation is founded on and which our men and women continue to die for provides others the right to choose to yell, sit, leave a hat on, etc during the anthem. That's the beauty of being free.
  14. It would have been a clean hit had OV not started falling - it's not Brindamour's style to play dirty. I agree, I was surprised there was no repercussion by the cap players. I sit in the section where the hit occured, and when I realized that OV was fine, I quickly became the number one Brindamour fan. The look on OV's face as it was smashed into the glass will never leave my memory - I only wish I had a video camera. If OV wants to continue to play dirty (I counted three uncalled charges by OV on Corvo, one of which hit Corvo in the head) and the league wants to continue to look the other way, he'll get his paybacks. Two tickets and parking - $150 Nachoes, beer and Cinnebon - $20 Watching Ovechkin's face as Brindamour slams him into the glass...priceless.
