  1. Wooo Hoooo 3rd place! May not sound like much, but it's way beyond my wildest dreams. Okay... so it's not even close to my wildest dreams but you get the picture!
  2. I'd just like to see where I finished. I'm seriously amazed I was still in contention going into the SCF. Congrats to the winner.
  3. Nice come back by my Braves tonight. With my main man CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPERRRRRRRR JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONES getting the walk off hit!
  4. Can't say I'm happy with the result, but I am happier than I was after the other two game 1's. I don't think this loss was so much us being outplayed as much as it was us doing some stupid stuff and spotting them some points combined with some crazy saves by Fluery.
  5. I didn't end up going, but there is always next time! Also, to anyone that can help, I've never been to Raleigh airport before so I don't really know how it's designed. Where do the 'Canes normally come in and where does one park for this kind of thing?
  6. It can get cool in there, but it's not outright cold to me. When the action is going and people are screaming and moving though it's pretty warm. Everytime I've been I've just had a T-Shirt, but I haven't sat lower than the first row of the second deck.
  7. Wow, amazingly I did decent in that round. Shot from 5 to 12 and moved halfway up the chart. I gotta mess that up now, so I'll send in my picks.
  8. I'd go if I had anyone to go with me. I always feel awkward doing stuff like this alone.
  9. While that's true to a very large extent, it's also about what you can physically afford. I literally wouldn't even have $2000 to be able to spend.
  10. I'm terrible at this. I'm giving it a try anyways though.
  11. I think it's hard to say, because of the scheduling. I think it's a toss up now, but if both sports played the same amount of games in a year I think football by far would be most physically demanding. As it is now though, I have to say hockey because they play so many more games with the type of play they have. Imafirehazzard worded what I was trying to say pretty well. In an overall season hockey is much tougher, but on a game-to-game average football is. Also, I don't think comparing injury types and what keeps players out is very accurate either. For instance, Turf Toe sounds lame, but to a football player it can make a big difference. In the way the sport is played, the need the toe/foot to get leverage against other 300+lb men, burst speed to hit holes in the line before they close, run routes, etc. Being on skates is different and it doesn't effect your feet the same way. It's the same way that for a football player/hockey player having a sore finger won't mean anything, but to a baseball pitcher it can be disasterous. It's not that the pitcher is any weaker or less tough, it's just that for his particular sport and skill set that injury effects him worse than it does for others.
  12. I'm gonna tell you something that not a whole lot of people seem to know, and being from the U.K. it may intrest you. If you get out to the Outer Banks there is an island called Ocracoke Island. On it is a cemetary from WWII that contains the grave sites of British soldiers that died off the coast of North Carolina. The land is considered official British soil, flies it flag and is one of the only non-embassy foreign soil in America. It's nothing big, or fancy but they do have a service out there yearly and fly the flag. Here is a bit more about it: http://www.offbeattravel.com/british-cemet...outerbanks.html http://www.ocracoke-nc.com/cemetery/ If you get out to that area there are other things to see such as beauttiful beaches, Ocracoke Lighthouse which is the second oldest operating lighthouse in America, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (On Hatteras Island, north of Ocracoke Island) which is the tallest lighthouse in America, Jockey's Ridge National Park which includes the largest natural sand dune system in the eastern United States (this is further north past Hatteras Island), and the Wright Brothers Memorial which is there to celebrate the location of the Wright Brothers first flight in history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jockey's_Ridge_State_Park http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_Brothe...tional_Memorial
  13. I didn't have any before pics with it because I don't take very many photos. I wasn't growing the beard for years or anything like that, just for a while begining in mid-2008. So about a year. I also did not enter in Beardathon. I didn't hear about it until the day AFTER I shaved.
