    Hurricanes hockey, what else matters?
  1. Anyone remember that Paradis kid we drafted and then shipped off to the Leafs for Tlusty? I didn't either, but apparently he's still out there and now signed with the Bolts. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=456946
  2. JR to the Pens... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=454122
  3. It's done deal according to TSN. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=454122
  4. Bylsma is a close as we can get to a "known" quantity. We know what he can do with a semi-potent 2 line offense, a middling defense, some spare cogs, and some decent goal tending. Playoffs. I'd do this in a heartbeat.
  5. I realize everyone here wants to get bigger, but I'd like to point out that "hitting everything with the puck" is exactly what cost Columbus a couple of playoff games. Badly timed hits, where it made zero impact and didn't turn the puck over. I can't tell you how much I was screaming at the TV over them laying dumb hits only to watch the pass connect and a Pen be down ice with a solid scoring chance as a result. Puck possession wins games. Period.
  6. NHL proven would be nice, but I think people are confusing Muller's failure with other successful coaches that had no NHL track record. I mean, look at Blysma? It can't all be players, with the injuries he's had to deal with on top of some spotty goal tending by MAF at times. He knows the game. Muller had no prior sustained head coaching success at all. He had one year in the AHL. I'd just like someone that is proven as a head coach in any winning capacity for more than a couple of seasons, and if they've been an AHL coach, one that has shown success in those players making the leap to the NHL and playing in the system of the main club. So no Daniels. He can't hack it.
  7. It's being widely reported as next week. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/04/26/report-rutherford-to-step-down-as-canes-gm-next-week/ http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=450459
  8. I loved watching him turn blue and seep blood. Is that wrong? LOL.
  9. Even though I knew what was going to happen last night, that was a very, very enjoyable episode.
  10. Columbus all the way. Can't help but pull for the underdog.
  11. I can see why her name is on the top of the list of new baby names since GoT premiered. She's a dynamic character. I loved that scene too. I was kind of meh on the episode until then. That made up for all the other development for sure.
  12. Based on my experience, anyone who Mr. Martin keeps alive for more than 2 books is lucky anyway, so why not let him be one of those faceless men. LOL. Other than that, I was very satisfied with the first show of the season. Can't wait till it gets really good.
  13. Huge GoT fan. I've read all the books and watched the series up till now more than once. I'm happy that Season 4 is finally here, especially because I know what happens and I can't wait to see some of it play out, and keeping all this secret from my significant other is difficult after reading the book. Was upset they changed the guy playing Daario, though. The guy from Season 3 was much more fitting for that character. This guy looks like a *edit*.
  14. He's a center for Chicago. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=8702
  15. Man, there's some depressing people on this forum. It's one reason I don't really post much, and don't visit nearly as much as I used to. I like this team. We're in a pretty good place considering we aren't running on all cylinders just yet. I think there's another gear to this team, and the fact that we battled back in 3 or 4 games to even get points or win it is a different feel from the past few years, when you just knew it was all over save the fat lady singing.
