  1. Just heard on an ESPN radio update that PK is open to selling the team, because "I'm 71 and these are the things you think about when you're 71." Haven't found a link to a story yet, but I'm sure one's coming today. I really hope he puts a stipulation in there that the team cannot be moved or that the NHL will as a stip for approving the new owner. Sorry to put this under this here, but I haven't posted enough yet to start a new topic myself.
  2. Premier Parking!! I'm home in west Cary in 15 minutes.
  3. Would be nice of Lindy to introduce Murphy to the weight room!
  4. I agree about Murphy. Wasn't this the year (experience-wise) where McBain took a big step back? He showed promise like Murphy (heck, and Faulk for that matter) but then seemed to completely forget his puck-handling skills. I would love to see Murphy gain 15-20 pounds IF he could maintain his speed. I worry about durability if he continues developing well and is moved up the pairings.
  5. Did you hear that a mega hockey center in Morrisville received funding? It will have two full sized rinks and the Canes will use it as a practice facility. I live in Morrisville, so this is exciting to me! Sorry, I couldn't find the link. Saw it on my FB wall yesterday.
  6. ESPN has an article on Jeff O'Neill's take on the Canes. Nothing new there, but it's nice to see an article on their front page! http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/32224/can-ron-francis-change-culture-in-carolina
  7. I have to agree with Remkin. My first thought was that Lindholm is not quite ready for two-way responsibilities. The other thing that line up does is make our #1 go against their #1. I wonder how much that would limit the point production of that line. I wouldn't want Skin/Lind/Sem going against the other team's top line.
  8. Hockeybuzz reporting that Bylsma turned down Carolina. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Ryan-Wilson/Bylsma-Had-Job-Opportunities--I-Reveal-Blog-Topic-For-The-Next-Week/177/61802
  9. A lot has been speculated about the PK budget. I really wish there would be more transparency which would help diehard fans understand moves/non-moves. There is no harm in sharing this information now that the major part of FA is past. I get not sharing that info in July. However, PK should know as a businessman that you can only pinch the budget so much. If you want profits to grow, you must increase the top line, revenue. For that to happen in sports, you have to put a product on the ice people are willing to pay to see. He loosened the pursestrings a few years ago and we made some moves. Unfortunately, we are now saddled with some terrible long-term deals. But, if the team is not losing money, I would hope that he would press forward until we find that right formula. The money will follow.
  10. Funny how you don't always know what you have until it's gone. I was never a big Joni fan, but I'd sure like a healthy Joni now!
  11. I still don't understand why you wouldn't lock up the aisle seat and let the other seat go through SAS. It is much more likely for someone to select an aisle even if it's a one-off. I'm assuming you would prefer to have kept the aisle and lost the second seat, correct?
  12. Totally agree. I love Ruutu, but half the time his big hits were in the zone opposite the puck.
  13. Went yesterday too. Wow, A LOT of available seats. More than I can remember in previous years. Not looking good.
