  1. He's been given a Golden Coral buffet of talent to work with in recent years and this offseason, so he better damn well find something he likes. ?
  2. Coastal, you're right man. RF can provide the hat ? and magic wand but BP has to do the show.
  3. Krugs does bring the experience RF is looking for. As I mentioned in another post, you're not going to get prolific numbers from him (esp as a 4th liner) but he has been on the ice during some clutch situations for the Hawks (including the closing minutes of the 2013 and 2015 Cup Finals wins) where he played stifling defense. Those things can make a difference, small as they may seem. He's a closer.
  4. That makes 2 of us brother. Not easy being a Caniac here but we still have a piece of cloth in our rafters that the Verizon Center doesn't have ?
  5. At least we won't get pushed around and swept by the Preds unless we make the Cup Finals ?
  6. Krugs is definitely a guy you want on your team if the need is present, and if you have deep pockets. Chicago didn't think 3+ mil was worth it for a 4th liner ..many other might agree...
  7. I've had a chance to watch Krugs over the years. An underrated 4th line center with Cup experience and the ability to get to the net. Not a great scorer but is extremely durable in that he hasn't missed many games due to injury (yet). Pretty decent on the PK.
  8. We'll see how Ovi the Great 8 does next year
  9. Maybe now I don't have to have to hear Caps fans say to me "You mean there's a team in Carolina?"
  10. Welcome back Williams! I hope this turns out to more than just a nastalgic move. ????
  11. Either way it's a fresh start for both camps..Lack in Calgary and the Canes with Darling. I try to keep the positive vibes when and where possible. I won't miss the taco commercials though.
  12. Farewell Lacko Taco. Great guy as a person, but disappointing stint with us is an understatement. I wish him well and hope he finds a groove in Calgary.
  13. Sometimes in life the cards stack up just right and you get a good hand. I would say goal-tending gets a resounding checkmark off of RF's postseason punch-list of items to address. Now, we need to see it work.
  14. Just saw the news on Mike Bales. Nice! We got pieces from the last 2 Stanley Cup teams. RF is certainly not sitting on his hands this summer,
  15. Bingo! It's more than just getting players that can puck really good. Other aspects like making Raleigh a desirable location for FAs and rookies has unspeakable value among other intangibles.
  16. The fun thing about sports sometimes is taking some risk. Those afraid to do it will never win. Some people get hung up on wanting a sure thing all the time.
  17. Getting this deal done quickly was smart. Next on the agenda...
  18. One thing to note, and perhaps it may have already been mentioned....if all works out with Darling, he'll have a young, faster, solid defense with a pretty good PK (even though PK dropped off at the end of the season). In Chicago, Darling had an old, worn-down, and slow defense in front of him. With a shaky D and a TERRIBLE PK, Darling - along with Crawford -directly won games the Hawks had no business winning. My hope is that his solid net-minding and a good D in front of him will be refreshing and will work hand-in-hand keeping the puck out of our net. That GAA stat should improve.
  19. Don't fret, he'll be between the pipes for us next year.
  20. Off-season carnage for many teams...
  21. Don't worry, as a Chicago native that now considers NC home and rooted with the Canes, I'll personally chat with Scott and make sure he stays with Canes for a long time LOL ???
  22. I hope it all works out. Darling was a phenomenal backup to Crawford in Chicago, and had very high success during stretches where he (Darling) started. Hawks would probably have not won the Cup in 2015 without Scott's great play, so that speaks to the quality of a goalie with recent postseason success. Works out for both teams...Darling had made his intentions known he wanted to be a starter, in which that notion is well-deserved. He earned that right. Instead of losing him for nothing as he is an UFA, Chicago re-captures a third round pick from last season's Thomas Jurco deal. The Canes get a crack at a quality netminder in Darling which was obviously a serious agenda item to address for RF. What that means for Lack and Wardo will be interesting to see.
