Well we are not the only team that can lay a steaming pile when playing against bottom feeders. Good to know. Don’t cere who wins but here’s hoping for OT and a 12 round shootout.

Went to a SO. Mission accomplished 👌🏽👍🏽

Raleigh is a nice growing city like you said but there a COLLEGE SPORTS CITY

True, the Triangle area is heavy college but one could also say that about the entire state. Rightfully so, as the first pro franchise didnt exist until the late 80's.  I love Charlotte and think it is a great sports town, but we know Raleigh can fill the arena if/when a decent product is on the ice.  We're not having this discussion back in 2006 or if the Canes weren't in a 10-year playoff drought.

We need to start the new team motto:

Every other team in tank mode is subscribing to the “Hughes” motto. Given our luck, we will screw that up too.  Maybe something good comes from a merciless season. Here’s to hoping 🥃

We're the lowest-paid team in the league with our highest-paid player injured once again, and our second highest-paid player sucks.  I'd say we're probably right about where one would expect, if not better.  Rod's far from perfect but i don't see how this mess can be blamed on him.  TD needs to open the checkbook.

We’re a budget team ... like a Sams Club version of a major appliance. Looks good but not quite up to par with a real machine.

  5. I think Rod is a decent coach and a good hockey guy. It’s too soon to make a judgement on him. He will make some blunders, as to be expected y a rookie coach. Those get amplified when the team isn’t doing well.  The talent on this team is lacking and that isn’t all in the coach.

  6. Raleigh is a growing city and I think it “might” be doable in the future.  Growing up in Chicago, having to go into the city to see any sporting event was always a PITA but fans will go anywhere if you’re winning. Personally I love driving right up to PNCs front door. The pine forest campus feel (vs skyscrapers 🏙 and city traffic) has always been a nice non-traditional feel I have enjoyed with relative ease. If TD wants a more urban setting I have no issues with that either if is good the economy and levies independence from NC States scheduling.

There's a few of us refugees from the Chicago sports scene, especially that of 30 or 40 years ago when all the owners were simply, uh, frugal.  So, pardon me if what we see with TD is playing out similarly.

I'll leave you with my favorite quote on this topic:

The McCaskey’s and the old man Wirtz come to mind here.

Chicago's season is already over. Rehabilitating Mongo with the pressure off might not be a bad play, and might actually put some butts in the seats.

As for Wardo, no. Not better. Just bad in a different way: Toast by February 1.

Chicago is 4-1-1 in its last 6 games partially due to Wardo. Cam looked elite against Dallas and outclassed Ben Bishop. He never ceases to amaze me regarding the Vezina-caliber games he can still have (with the usual stinkers in between)
