I get everyone not wanting to mortgage the future but if we're being realistic we need to sell high on some of our prospects. If you look at our defensive prospects that have a realistic shot at being a solid NHL defenseman you've got Bean, Keane, Priskie, Mckeown and Kaski as of late. On top of Anttoni Honka (also were rumored to his brother with the Stars Julius Honka, we could circle back around in the off-season probably for cheap to "re-stock") and Sellgren developing pretty well in Europe. Thats gives you 7 d-man (potentially 8 with Julius Honka) and I'm no math expert but there's almost no way with that logjam all of them will play for the Canes. Why not trade a Bean if it means you can get a Dumba or another good D-man that makes you better why not go for. Theyre going to have to at somepoint or lose them for nothing.
