  1. Is there a statistic of how many Presidents Trophy teams were swept out of the playoffs. There must be cause they have a record for just about everything else. http://www.buffalonews.com/214/story/76869.html A Presidents
  2. I can't believe we havn't called up Stafford once this series. He has 5 points against the Sens. He played in the few games against the Sens when they were healthy. We beat the healthy Sens with a group of AHLers but we can't beat them with our current NHL squad. Another person I wanted to see come up is Nathan Patch. He's really good on the Power Play. It might be too little too late, but if the Sabres fix there Power Play they could be right back into the series.

  5. Not until we're eliminated. And ABB still sucks.
  6. Our message boards has always been like that. We go into a slump in the middle of the regular season and we get guys that say "Sabres suck, no cup this year" But Buffalo has a lot of loyal fans too. After you guys beat us in last year's ECF they arrived at the airport and was greated by a crowd who was chanting "thank you Sabres." ''> ' target="_blank"> [/post] The problem is the Sabres fans are pissed off at the lack of effort. Last year the Sabres put on a lot of effort, and with 4 injured defensemen was 1 period away from the Stanley Cup finals. Now we're the #1 team in the NHL and we're 1 game away from being swept. I'll admit that our cup dreams are dead . But I'm going to "Party at the Plaza" tomorrow to cheer on my Sabres. It was a great season, and I will follow the Sabres for the rest of my life. GO SABRES!
  7. IT'S DE JA VU OF LAST YEAR ONLY REVERSED!!! I'm glad we won the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals last year but I can't believe we did it in 5 games. Last year Ottawa was the powerhouse team that just choked in the playoffs. Looks like this year it's Buffalo's turn. Maybe next year.
  8. All I got to say is the Sabres need to make some adjustments during the offseason. 1. NEW POWER PLAY COACH! 2. Keep Drury 3. Bring in a big defensemen 4. I like Briere but he is not worth the money. The Sens are doing to us what we did to them last year. Hopefully the Sabres can do what the 1975 Islanders and the 2004 Red Sox did. If not GO SABRES IN 08
  9. Well I hope you guys had fun. THAT WAS THE MOST EMBARRASING GAME THE SARBES PERFORMED THIS YEAR
  10. That's only a minority of people. There are some people who think that Marty should've stayed in Buffalo and that Miller sucks. lol. But anyone who knows hockey should know that Miller is a HUGE reason that the Sabres are sucessful.
  11. Miller is amazing. It's been all Ottawa so far, Miller is keeping this game scoreless.
  12. Ok Sean Doan I'm chiming in solely for the Ontario comment...don't even start to blame this one on the officials. Take the Sabres goggles off for a moment and look at both sides. I watched every detail of this game because I wanted to see just how justified Sabres fans are with their post-loss chirping. The 5 on 3 was justified. Zubrus was called because he clearly held Heatley away from the play. That's been an automatic penalty all season. Zubrus knows this and also knows he messed up. The exact same call was made twice against Ottawa during the game. Both Meszaros and Neil were called for holding, for merely taking one hand off the stick and placing it on their opponent's back and arm. Pathetic calls, if you ask me, but they've been calling those all year. Alfreddson didn't leave his feet to my knowledge, but the hit did look like a questionable hit from behind. If the same check were committed in the first period I'd have to say that it probably would have been called. However in OT the refs don't call borderline calls (this is common knowledge). Just like how refs don't call borderline calls in the final couple minutes of regulation. Watch the replay of Buffalo's tying goal to send the game into overtime. Kelly was hit directly from behind without the puck. If they would have called that, Buffalo would not have even sent the game into overtime. Vanek's first goal was not a goal....he clearly made a swinging motion towards the puck. That sort of play has never been and never will be a counted as a goal. It went to Toronto to determine whether or not it went off Vanek's glove or stick, not whether there was a swinging motion....because there obviously was. There were just as many things for Ottawa's bench to have complained about as there was for Buffalo. Hecht delivered a very questionable hit near the end of the first overtime that would normally have been a penalty. Even the CBC commentator admitted that. The only difference is Brian Murray doesn't flap his arms like a temper-mental todler as Lindy Ruff does every time something doesn't go his way. Buffalo was outplayed for majority of the game. A total of 11 penalties were called all game. Seven of them were in favour of Buffalo yet they couldn't capitalize on a single one. Hell, 3 of those PP opportunities Buffalo registers 1 or less shots on goal. One of them Ottawa had more scoring chances on the PK. I also heard the Buffalo boos myself, but that's a common trend around the NHL when the home team is not producing, especially in major hockey cities like Montreal, Toronto, New York. What I had a problem with was how quickly the Buffalo fans gave up on their team in the final 5 minutes. The arena looked partly empty in OT because nearly 5000 fans left the game before the final minutes were over. Then on there way to their cars they realized that the Sabres tied it up and were angry that they couldn't get back in. Next time don't bail on your team so quickly to beat traffic on the 190. HA HA. It was just like the game 5 of the Rangers series. I was at party at the plaza and I saw a lot of Buffalo fans leave before Chris Drury's last second goal.
  13. Actually IT"S NOT I live in Buffalo for 8 months of the year and I'm not a drunking idiot. Stop sympathizing to look better. Ok. I'm sorry. I know not all Western New Yorkers are drunken idiots. And I'll still root for the Sabres ALL RIGHT SERIOUS NOTE!! There is one thing the Sabres need to adress. THE SPECIAL TEAMS!! IF RUFF CAN FIX THIS THEN THE SABRES CAN BE GET RIGHT BACK INTO THIS. I missed most of the game because I was at work, but 0 for 7 on the Power Play is ridiculous. This is the Sabres biggest weakness all season and if they want the cup, THEY GOT TO GET THIS FIXED. GO SABRES!!!
  14. Man I wish Buffalo wasn't full of drunken idiots. Maybe God would give me a championship
  15. Power Play is atrocious. But it's been like that all year and we still got to the Eastern Conference Finals. Sabres outplayed Ottawa from the middle of the 1st to the 3rd. Sabres just needs a better effort. We'll come back and win on Saturday.
  16. Congrats to the Sens. They deserved this win. My review of this game. 1. Sabres REALLY need to work on there power play. I'll give Ottawa credit, but that's what it came down too. Sens capatilzed on the PP, Sabres didn't. 2. I thought the Sabres were good through out the first 2 periods, but then just collapsed in the third. Lydman and Miller were the best players on the Sabres team. It really comes down to the Power Play. Sabres need to fix there PP or it's another season without a cup.
  17. Stafford struggled a little. Maybe it was jitters from being in his first NHL playoffs But if there's anyone I want to see scratched it's Max. Other then the game-winner versus in game 5 he's been awful. Just like last year, he gets to the playoffs and he's useless.
  18. Here's a link. It says www.nyrangerssuck.com but there's a link to anti-Sabres stuff. <_< http://www.nyrangerssuck.com/

    Joke

Ok. OK. RYAN MILLER walks into a doctor's office. "What's wrong" asked the doctor? "Oh doctor. Every bone in my body is broken" says Miller. "Really" asked the doctor. "Yeah. I touch my leg. OW! And it hurts. I touch my face. OW! And it hurts." said Miller. "Ok. When did everything start hurting?" asked the doctor. "Well. I was in a hockey game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Eric Staal fired a slapshot and stopped it with my right hand." "All right let me check your right hand." said the doctor. He examines it. "Well. The reason everything you touch hurts is because YOUR FINGERS ARE BROKEN!!!!" Miller isn't blonde either but I still think it's a funny joke.

Cam Ward walks into a doctor's office. "What's wrong" asked the doctor? "Oh doctor. Every bone in my body is broken" says Ward. "Really" asked the doctor. "Yeah. I touch my leg. OW! And it hurts. I touch my face. OW! And it hurts." said Ward. "Ok. When did everything start hurting?" asked the doctor. "Well. I was in a hockey game against the Buffalo Sabres. Daniel Briere fired a slapshot and stopped it with my right hand." "All right let me check your right hand." said the doctor. He examines it. "Well. The reason everything you touch hurts is because YOUR FINGERS ARE BROKEN!!!!"
  21. It should be an interesting series. This could go either way. I expect a long series. But who knows. Last year I expecet the Sens to pound us but we won in 5. Maybe the Sens will choke again. Like they always do. My prediction: Sabres in 7
  22. WHAT!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING? His GAA is .928 Let's look at the Goals he allowed recently Game 3: 2 Game 4: 2 Game 5: 1 Game 6: 4 Up until the last game is GAA was pretty good. He had one bad game and his GAA is slipping? Another thing. Most of the goals he allowed were on the Penalty Kill. But overall the entire team on the PK wasn't very good for Game 6. Miller has been stellar and a key reason the Sabres made it this far. ya sure Miller's GAA is .928? u might wanna looks at save percentage. *SMACKS HEAD* 2.07 GAA. That's still pretty good.
