Spokane Chiefs best the Tri City Americans tonight, 5-3, in a battle for 1st place.

Drayson Bowman scored 2 goals, has 1 assist, and was +4

He just keeps racking up the points and if he can stay healthy he's going to have an outstanding season.

Just to let you guys know, the Chiefs will be going out on a 5 game, 6 day road trip through the Central Division. Here's the schedule if interested.

11/30 Calgary Hitmen

12/1 Medicine Hat Tigers

12/2 Red Deer Rebels

12/4 Edmonton Oil Kings

12/5 Lethbridge Hurricanes

Wow its amazing to think that in 25 games he has just 1 less point than he did in 61 games last year, and has already passed the number of points he had an 72 games 2 seasons ago. he is making tremendous progress.

What's really amazing is the fact that here in Spokane we've seen players go down in stats and performance after being drafted. Not Bows. He's gotten better.

He stays healthy, OMG he going to have a great season.

Drayson Bowman's 11 game point scoring streak was snapped at 11 games on 11/30 during a 2-1 OT win at Calgary (Hitmen).

On 12/1 in a 4-3 L to the Medicine Hat Tigers (@ MH) he scored a goal, was +1 and had 2PIM.

On 12-2 in a 2-0 W over the Red Deer Rebels (@ RD) he scored a goal, was +1. :)

The Chiefs have Mon off before playing at Edmonton (Oil Kings) on 12/4 and then at Letherbridge (Hurricanes) on 12/5. The next home game is Sat 12/8 against the Swift Current Broncos.

Stats to this point--28GP 25G 19A +26 36PIM

He's 3rd in scoring in the WHL and tied for 1st in goals scored. He leads the Chiefs in scoring.

More updates to come.

Bowman and the Chiefs just finished a 5 game in 6 night road trip through the Central Division. The Chiefs went 3-2 during the trip.

Bowman stats for trip: 5GP 3G 3A +3 4PIM

Stats to date: 30GP 26G 22A +27 36PIM

He now has career highs in both goals, assists, and +/-

Bowman had an 11 game point scoring streak snapped on 11/30 at Calgary. He's now go a 4 game point scoring streak going.

He's ranked #3 among WHL scoring, #1 in goals scored, tied for 1st in PP goals scored, and #1 in GW goals. He leads Chiefs in scoring.

Of course you all know by now that he got WHL and CHL PLayer of the Week twice in a row and then was named WHL Player of the Month for November.

The Chiefs play on Sat 12/8 at home against the Swift Current Broncos and on Sun 12/9 away against the Portland Winterhawks. I'll definately be at the game on Sat and am going to try to watch the game on Sun on line.

It would have been great to see Bowman selected to play on Team USA for WJC. But it doesn't look like not being selected is affecting Bowman at all.

Harrison Reed has improved his production since Sarnia traded him to Guelph. If I remember correctly he has 18 points through 28 games with the sting. He now has 1 goal and 5 assists in 7 games with the storm.

Brandon Sutter tallied an assist in Team Canada's 5-0 exhibition victory over Red Bull Salzburg.

...and Luke Schenn (Saskatoon, SK/Kelowna, WHL) added a fourth marker for Canada on a shot from the point with Brandon Sutter (Red Deer, AB/Red Deer, WHL) causing havoc in front of Austrian netminder Thomas H

Don't forget Jamie McBain is currently with team USA at the world juniors right now. No clue how he did in today's win over Kazakhstan, though. Sutter looked pretty good for Canada. Strong on faceoffs including one huge win while killing a 5 on 3, laid a few hits and was great on the pk. In one sequence he blocked a shot and went down in pain, got right up and broke up a pass which was then cleared. On the other end a Czech forward blocked a shot in a similar fashion and lay there like he had been shot haha

Forgot about McBain, thanks for the reminder. Tried to find some statistics from Team U.S.A.'s victory earlier today but there weren't any available so I don't know if he found his way onto the scoresheet or not.

Yeah, TSN's announcers weren't shy at the fact that the Czech Republic players went down quickly and were taken out easily. Pierre even called out one of their players who left the ice in the first period and returned at the start of the second period, "he's done this before...". Sutter really didn't stand out in my opinion, a couple of nice defensive plays but I felt the TSN announcers talked about him more than he probably deserved. I assume they would LOVE to see his rights traded to a Canadian team.

Hurricane's product Justin McCrae has been traded to the Spokane Chiefs. So now, he'll be playing on the same team as Bowman. Can't say if they will play the same line at all. Updates on both from here will be easier now. Only saw McCrae once before.

Newly acquired Chief Justin McCrae made a nice debut tonight for the Chiefs. He started the game on the top line with Drayson Bowman and Mitch Wahl (Captain Chris Bruton is on a 3 game suspension).

Justin scored 2 goals, both coming by crashing the net and finding rebounds. Bowman had an assist for the game.

I think it's going to get interesting with the addition of McCrae. He was all over the ice, did look a bit lost at time, due to being new to the system. He just flew into Spokane today.

More updates to come on both McCrae and Bowman.

Last night the Chiefs beat the Portland Winterhawks 6-2 in Portland.

Bowman ended the night 1G 1A +2 7PIM (Gordie Howe hat trick). The fight was the greatest but he held his own.

Bowman's stats since returning from XMas break: 7GP 2G 5A +2 9PIM. Year to date he's at 42GP 29G 30A +29 49PIM (more goals and assists than last year).

McCrae ended the night 1A +2. So far with the Chiefs he's sitting at 2GP 2G 1A +2. With the Blades he was 35GP 11G 13A -15 22PIM. So year to date stats are 37GP 13G 14A -13 22PIM

I was able to watch the game online last night and they both looked pretty good. They both had chances to score on break aways, shots, and on rebounds. The goalie for Portland is great and stands on his head at times to stop the puck.

Here's a couple pics for you guys.
