Red_Storm Report post Posted March 6, 2008 One thing I'd heard -- and it's likely a big reason the transition has been so easy for the called-up guys -- is the Cane's have Coach Rowe employing a similar playing scheme to Lavi's. I imagine, in addition to winning, that's a bit more stimulating to watch than traditional Devil's hockey.
just-joe Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Hopefully, it should only get better with guys like Bellemore, Bowman, Dodge, Lawson, McBain, McCrae, Reed, Sutter, and Terry a year or two away from Albany.
Guest Report post Posted March 6, 2008 And you should know Max that the organization give tons of kudos and respect to Tommy Rowe for what he's doing with the players. Ive heard it mentioned by Lavi, JR, Karmanos, Tripp, J Forslund and C Kaiton. In the same way they're doing it for Samsonov and Corvo, they're making T Rowe feel needed, appreciated and a key part of the organization. He should feel great cause his hard work has kept us afloat while things were really heading south (no pun intended) during the worst stretch.

katy Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Really...the Rats deserve some credit for saving our season. So maybe WE should be thanking YOU!
caneswincup Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Props too to our ECHL feeder program as those kids have been bumping up to Albany to fill the spaces left by the recent call-ups from the Rats to the Canes. Albany has been on every bit of a great winning stretch as we have, which means we're working our system on all levels. L
max Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Yeah Tom Rowe has done a wonderfull job down here with us the past two season. He is bar far one of the best coaches we have ever had here. And he is one of the most popular coaches here as well. He is one of those coaches that demands you work hard every night. And if not you will sit. He does not care if you are the biggest star in the league or a guy just trying to make it if you do not work hard every shift you will not play. Like for example there was a game about a month ago just after Brandon Nolan got sent back were he turned the puck over in a selfish play and it led to wich turned out to be the game winning goal. Now we could have used Brandon out there the rest of the game but coach Rowe sat him out the entire 3rd period so he could think about what he did. Because he was not playing well that night. Now Brandon is our leading goal scorer. But he was not trying that night so coach told him he was done for the night and made him sit on the bench and watch. Same with Trevor Gillies in that same game Trevor took 3 stupid penalties in that game. So him and Brandon sat right next to each other the rest of the game and never saw the ice again that night. Camniac Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Oh my, great post Max! And we do need to give thanks to you guys also. We wouldn't have had a team these past few months without you guys. The Rats that come up here are awesome players and play their hearts out and deserve so much! GO CANES/RATS!!!!!!

Dodge, Chaput and Reed will likely make their Albany debuts next season. We have to sign all 3 this spring or lose their rights.
its-staal-good-num-12 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 Well a big thanks to the River Rats organization for getting the boys ready for the NHL and for those Albany players for coming up and giving it all they've got every single night! Without them, who knows what we'd be doing now
