Hurricanes goalkeeper Cam Ward has lost 23 games in each of the last two seasons and has averaged exactly that many over the last four (21 L in 2006-07, 25 L in 07-08, and the aforementioned number in 08-09 and 09-10). On the brighter side, he has also won that many playoff games.

When Ron Francis captured his second Stanley Cup in 1992 (with the Pittsburgh Penguins), he racked up 19 assists in that postseason.

The New England Whalers retired the number 19 of John McKenzie in 1979. McKenzie did play for the Whalers, and in three seasons he accumulated 57 goals and 76 assists for 133 P in 189 GP (along with 11 G and 14 A for 25 P in 29 playoff games). It is widely believed that his number was retired to spite the rival Boston Bruins, for whom McKenzie had played seven seasons and won two Stanley Cups with from 1965-1972.

Finally, the number that everyone should know: on June 19, 2006, the Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup. The 'Canes scored 19 goals in that series, which they won 4-3. Eric Staal, who finished the playoffs as the leading points scorer, had 9 goals and 19 assists (also a playoff best) for 28 total points.
