With the All Star voting now under way, there are a few fan backed balloting campaigns out there trying to get our Canes into the All Star game. Since the All Star weekend will take place here on our home ice, it would be great if we could see several of our players make that final roster. Fans are allowed to write in 1 forward, 1 defenseman, and 1 goalie so besides casting your vote for Eric Staal, Joni Pitkanen and Cam Ward, consider writing in a vote for a 'Canes player who's play on the ice has been All Star worthy this season.

A few have come together to help promote young Jeff Skinner as the All Star forward write in candidate, he has come into this season as a rookie but played as an All Star. Because his numbers can match up to veteran All Star numbers from around the league, he not only deserves to be acknowledged for his rookie accomplishments by being selected as a rookie All Star, but he also deserves to be voted in for a regular spot on the All Star team.

Thanks to joint contributions from both CanesCountry.com and CarolinaHurricanes.com, the voteSKINNer.com website is now up and running!

voteSKINNER.com

How you can vote:

  • Log onto http://vote.nhl.com/

  • If its your first time, you'll need to go through a brief registration (even if you already have an account which if you're posting here, you do ;) )
  • Once you submit you ballot, your write ins (one for each position) remain for any further voting.

I'm having the same problem. Not wanting to derail either, but if anyone can provide any input by PM I'm all ears.

I've found when you type a few letters of his name in the space, you can select his name from the drop down menu. If you try and type his full name in, in doesn't always pull him up to add. Once you add him, he'll remain on your forward list for 30 votes allowed today unless you sign out and re-log in later. Hope this helps.

Remeber, you get 30 votes per day.....per account.

It pulls up all my account info when I 'log in' but nothing I do will register the account for voting, like its in limbo or something. I tried to create a new account from two of my email accounts and says those email accounts have already been registered.

I can ask the NHL folks. Just to be clear, you can log onto that page with your current account but it won't allow you to vote?

Did you log into this screen?

Capture-13.jpg

And then fill out this one?

Capture2.jpg

Once done it will say Welcome "Ichigo-1" in the top right corner and you can then start voting.

I just voted 5 times........

You only have 25 more to go....today ;)

Yeah, when I put in my info (same as here) it ask to complete registration with all of my info there, minus my date of birth which I fill out, and a Capcha, and a submit button. I hit the submit and it just reloads the registration page with no error message or missing fields error. I can't get a screen grab atm, but I can pull one up later.

Do you leave the birthday blank? Maybe try and fill in something there (any date if you want) and see if it will load from there.

I had the same problem as lchigo and coastal. I finally got it but it took 6 or 7 tries. I think I signed out and signed in on both canes and nhl board.Or maybe I signed out on the canes page and signed back in on the vote page. I also entered birth date and code. I think when it finally went back to the vote page i hit continue instead of trying to vote that had been sending me back to the registration page. Then it allowed me to vote. i'm not sure what made it work.

I couldn't sign in from my laptop w/ win 7 but finally managed from my desktop with xp. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the problem or I just cracked the code when I was using xp. Now that I finally signed in I can go back from either computer and it allows me to vote with no problem.

I am sure this is more confusing than helpful but thats what happened

Had trouble getting in too earler this week. I ended up changing my password because there were too few letters, needed 6+. Still gave me issues but got in today.

If you go to add Jeff Skinner, be sure to capitalize the first letter. For some reason it would show up if you started typing in lower case, but if you enter the name it would say didn't exist... Typed it in with upper case letters and it found him.

Puck Daddy.com is following the vote:

The 9 most interesting 2011 NHL All-Star Game voting trends

By Greg Wyshynski

]8. Carolina Home-Cookin' [/b]

The 2011 NHL All-Star Game is in Raleigh, and some of the totals show the fans are jacked. Eric Staal(notes) (38,141), Chad LaRose(notes) (15,214, write-in) and rookie Jeff Skinner(notes) (6,652, write-in) are among the Canes polling well; Cam Ward(notes) has more votes at the moment than Roberto Luongo(notes).

Someone needs to correct his numbers :shifty:

10,000 more votes for Chad then Skinner, I'd laugh if it wasn't so embarrassing. Pushing a 3rd liner in over a Calder possibility just gives me a headache trying to figure out what the heck our fanbase is doing.

I understand that neither will ever catch the top 3 to be considered, but the principle of the thing is just mind boggling. About as mind boggling as chanting goalie you suck while losing.
