This could be interesting if you can pick each player based on their peak performance.

How about an all enforcer 4th line?  Can we even put one of those together?  Are we allowed to go back to the Hartford days?

Stu Grimson .

Jesse Boulerice

well i was going by the  peak in their career ,

as for the hartford days , im trying to make this all about the hurricanes and not the whalers , since a good portion of  canes fans don't recall the whalers .  and who use to be on it

for example if we used guys from the whaler era , you would have chris progner , gordie howe , brendan shanahan  ,  to think about , and id like to leave it as just the hurricanes era  only .

as for an enforcer line , sure if you can think of some guys to make a line out of lets see it  .

Whitney-E Staal-Semin

Williams-Francis-Stillman

Skinner-Brind'amour-Cole

Weight-Sutter-Ruutu

Wesley-Hedican

Gleason-Faulk

Wallin-Seidenberg

Ward

Irbe

I'll admit I was very young and a very casual canes fan until about '09, so I'm hazy on the older guys. May be off base

First line goalie would be Gerber. Hard to argue against 38-14-6 record.  112 points and #2 in Eastern conference in 05- 06.

Second would be Irbe.  3 straight playoff appearances.

No way on Burke. Really only 3 winning "seasons" in his career. One season 13 games played, one 11 game season, and one 22 game season.

I would include O'Neill, Gelinas, Dineen, Kapanen, and Walker. Still mulling over Burt, Seidenberg, and the outside possibility of accepting Ozolinsh.

Center, Left Wing, all defensemen: Rod Brind'Amour...cause he is the MAN!!!

Right Wing: Chad LaRose

Oh wait...that's the "what the board thinks I'd say" line.  ;)

Probably the best all around player we've had. The other was all mouth.

Ooops..... forgot to kneel to the Ward. Sorry. I guess getting sick is now called choking,

Kneeling to the Conn Smythe and the Stanley Cup would be sufficient.  Oh, since Ward lifted them both, I see your point.

I was pointing out that Gerber had a great run to get this team to the playoffs. Without that run Ward is still a bench warmer and not being paid 6.5 mil.

Well we'll get back to the original thread now since I don't think anyone could possibly top that last statement in terms of comedy.

I was looking through the original posters top D pairing, I agree with Wesley. But I thought man over the years someone better then Justin has had to pass through our doors.....and.....no...not really.

It's hard to decide if I want to go with whose done more for the franchise in terms of accolades or just if I were to play a game and each player was in their prime what would the lineup be.

If I'm going for best lineup in their prime I'd do

Center- Ron Francis

Right Wing- Mark Recchi

Left Wing- Eric Staal

D- Wesley

D- Faulk

G- Ward

Who did the most for the team

Center- Ron Francis

Right Wing- Cory Stillman

Left Wing- Rod Brind'Amour ..... yea I know he doesn't fit there but he does today.

Defense- Wesley

Defense- Wallin

Goalie - Ward

Just in an attempt to settle this never ending goalie stuff. Everyone pick your top goalie. I nominate Legase for designated backup. He was fun and exciting to watch and gave us hope. haha!

The Canes greatest forward/centers of all time are
(in approx order)

ERIC STAAL
ROD BRIND'AMOUR
RON FRANCIS
RAY WHITNEY
JEFF O'NEILL
ERIK COLE
JUSTIN WILLIAMS
CORY STILLMAN
MATT CULLEN

SAMI KAPANEN

and ALEX SEMIN (already)

Putting Jordan Staal on the 2nd line, after one pathetic 40-ish game season?       :hotflash:

What a joke!  Please don't disrecpect our
all-time greats like that!

In goal, depends how we define it.

I'll go as follows:

Gerber - best single regular season

Ward - best single-season playoff run

Ward - All-time Canes career stats

Irbe - overall, honorable mention

Putting Staal above Francis is just insane.

Best 10 forwards in order:

Francis

Brindy (for his 2 way game and FO %)

Staal

Semin

Whitney

Williams

Roberts

Primaddona

Reechi

Weight
