2015 NHL All Star Game....

Recommended Posts

Decided to start a new discussion to see who we think deserves to participate in this year's All Star Game and why.

Here are my choices:

Forwards:

Elias Lindholm: For his 2nd season, he had a slow start but is finding his way. He's added size and weight and is slowly becoming a physcial force.

Jiri Tlusty: Without him at the beginning of the season, we would have scored less goals than we did.

Eric Staal: It took him sometime, He's been finally finding the scoring sheet.  But as one of the leaders of the team, it is expected.

Jeff Skinner: See above.

Defense:

Andrej Sekera: Outside of a couple shifts, he's been the consistant on our backend.

Justin Faulk: Slow start, feeling the pressure and thinking too much, but is finally just playing.

Goalie:

Cam Ward: Is he finally back? So far this month, he's been steady, hasn't looked rattled and is having a resurgent return of his game that everyone thought he was cable of.

My dark horse:

Riley Nash: I know, I know. He's not a star, but he's done everything the coaching staff has asked of him.

Post up and start voting!

Here is the latest on the AllStar voting.  I pulled just the Hurricanes.   Looks like Sekera has a chance if they expand the rosters to 73 players a side.

I'm up in MN, big fan of #27.  I watch every game I can, but unfortunately that is a limited number as I do not have the NHL Center Ice Package.  I'm hoping Faulk is your representative at the ASG.  What are your guy's thoughts as you get to watch a lot more games than me?

The only guy playing close to All Star level is Ward. But his bad start and the team in front of him will rule that out. If you had to pick a guy Skinner has All Star skills at least.

They look like they should be getting ready to ride a leg of the Tour De France instead of playing in a hockey game in those jerseys.

I was thinking Tron: Hockey Edition.

Are they planning on turning a black light on at some point, because it looks like that green part might light up like a bug zapper.

Nbcsn? No free tv? Unbelievable. Sooo many ppl, esp yutes, are dropping cable for antenna and interwebs. Even if its on the net, still amazing that NBC doesn't have it on their over the air feed. Guess I'll catch the highlights...

This years jerseys:

I'm at a stage where even though I can't say I like them, they're growing on me a little.  I'd rather have them be different than boring.

Those orange ones....wow...orange is never a good idea. Sorry Philly.

They did get me thinking though. What if every inch of the jersey was a star? Just a bunch of interconnected stars.

Then the jerseys woudl be All Stars.

I'm here all night. Tip your waistresses.

I liked the mid 90's one too and I was around 20. Still not bad and I'm 40 lol. I think it'd be pretty cool to honor the hosting team and use their colors but in a clearly different design.

Out of all D-men, where do you think Faulk will get drafted tomorrow?

Well, I think that played out pretty much as expected. Here's hoping Faulk has a similar path as Kessel; drafted "at the end" one year only to be drafted near the top a couple of years later.

I enjoyed the skills competition last night. I'm going to miss the All Star game due to work. Honestly I wasn't sure I was going to watch it anyway. Although the skills competition is hokey at times it is fun to watch; at least for me.

Weber's 108.5 mph shot was, well a blast. It would have been better if he could have broken Chara's record but impressive none the less.
