Florida Everblades in the hunt for the Kelly Cup

Nice to see one of our affiliated teams in a playoff. Florida Everblades

 

The Florida Everblades have advanced to the second round of the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs. They won the first series in an overtime game 7.

 

Alex Aleardi scored the game-winning goal at 12:39 of overtime, while Daniel Altshuller stopped all 30 shots faced to propel the Florida Everblades to a 1-0 victory over the Orlando Solar Bears

 

They now face the Stingrays in the East final

 

The Florida Everblades will face the South Carolina Stingrays in the East Division Finals of the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs.  The second round series will begin on Friday (May 1) at Germain Arena.

Things aren't looking good for the Everblades

 

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Rob Bellamy scored with 23 seconds remaining in regulation to propel the South Carolina Stingrays to a 3-2 lead over the Florida Everblades in Game 3 of the East Division Finals at the North Charleston Coliseum Tuesday Evening.  South Carolina leads the best-of-seven series 3-0.

Corey Trivino scored at 5:38 of the third overtime to seal a 2-1 victory  for the Florida Everblades over the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 4 of the East Division Finals Wednesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.  South Carolina now leads the best-of-seven series 3-1. The game was the longest game in Everblades history at (105:38)., and was the 12th longest game in ECHL history.

OBXer, thanks for giving us this coverage!! I truly miss the days when fan interest ran so high for all things Canes that we got close to daily coverage for our AHL team as well as kept up with our ECHL affiliate. Is this how involvement with the game of hockey grows, or is this apathy the by-product of our recent miserable seasons?

Apathy and frustration.  And at least one more year of it ahead.

We only have a couple of players in Florida that have a chance to progress but it is part of our development and they are in a playoff hunt. I hope they can keep the latest series alive tonight.

I'm In Charleston for a family visit and it sucks I missed the Stingrays game at home vs the Blades by a dadgum  day.

 

Folding chairs on the glass for 10 bucks is a good deal.

Staying Alive - NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Brant Harris scored at 1:20 into the second overtime to lift the Florida Everblades to a 5-4 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 5 of the East Division Finals at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday Evening.  South  Carolina now leads the series 3-2, and the Everblades force a Game 6 on Monday at Germain Arena.

 

Altshuller earned the win stopping 30 of 32 shots

Everblades’ Season Ends with 5-2 Loss in Game 6

Mike Aviani scored a power play goal for the Everblades with 27 seconds remaining, but it would not be enough as the Stingrays take the game 5-2 and clinch the series 4-2.  South Carolina will face the winner of Wednesday’s Game 7 between Toledo and Fort Wayne.
