My favorite crazy story about guys who do make it is Scott Darling.  He not only played in the ECHL, for the Everblades, but also the SPHL for the infamous Louisiana Icegators.  30 games in the SPHL and he lost 22.  

 

What a story to make it to the NHL!

Berry’s Goal in the Final Seconds Lifts ‘Blades to 5-4 Win by Robert Molnar

Michael Kirkpatrick netted a hat trick while Matt Berry scored the game-winning goal with 3.2 seconds remaining in the contest to lead the Florida Everblades (28-9-1-2, 59 pts) to a major 5-4 win over the South Carolina Stingrays

Anthony Peters came up big multiple times throughout the contest including some major saves late in the game. Earning the win, Peters stopped 32 of the 36 shots he faced.

forward Stephen MacAulay has joined the team on loan from the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League

the Everblades traded forward Eric Scheid to the Missouri Mavericks in exchange for the rights to defenseman Bryce Aneloski

On Wednesday, the Everblades traded defenseman Akim Aliu to the Elmira Jackals in exchange for future considerations.

Everblades Rally for 5-4 Overtime Victory Over Greenville by Keaton Hanley

Evan Bloodoff broke into the zone on a two-on-one with newcomer Jake Baker who couldn’t put it home.
However with the puck still loose off the rebound, Evan Bloodoff got to the front of the net and jammed it home, giving the Blades a 5-4 comeback win in overtime.

Altshuller earned the win making 26 saves on 30 shots faced

the team has acquired defenseman Jake Baker (pictured above) from the Quad City Mallards in exchange for defenseman Alex Kuqali.  In addition, the Everblades have agreed to terms with forward Louis Belisle.

Baker, 25, joins the Everblades with one assist in 10 appearances with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL this season

Belisle, 25, joins the Everblades with 23 points (9g, 14a) in 30 games with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League

O’Donnell’s Late Goal Leads ‘Blades To 5-3 Win Over Gladiators by Robert Molnar

Brendan O’Donnell scored the game-winning goal and added an assist to lead the Florida Everblades (31-9-2-2, 66 pts) to a 5-3 victory over the rival Atlanta Gladiators

 

Anthony Peters was stellar once again in goal for the Everblades, earning the win after stopping 36 of the 39 shots he faced.

Florida Holds off Atlanta for 5-3 Victory By Keaton Hanley

Both Brant Harris (2g, 1a) and Stephen MacAulay (1g, 2a) finished with three-point nights to help guide the Florida Everblades (32-9-2-2, 68 pts) to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators

Anthony Peters came up big late in the period, as the Blades found themselves on the penalty kill.  Peters was able to bail them out with a full split save on a cross crease one timer from Atlanta.

‘Blades Sink Admirals with Five-Goal Third Period by Robert Molnar

Brant Harris scored twice while John McCarron, Mike Ferrantino, Kevin Raine, Evan Bloodoff, and Curt Gogol each scored a goal to help lead the Florida Everblades (35-10-2-3, 75 pts) to a 7-4 come from behind victory over the Norfolk Admirals (19-29-4-0, 42 pts) Wednesday night at the Norfolk Scope.

 

the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Steven Racine.

Racine, 25, has posted an 0-3-0 record with a 3.76 goals-against-average and an 0.873 save percentage in four ECHL appearances this season split between the Atlanta Gladiators and Toledo Walleye.

Everblades Suffer Shutout Loss in Brampton by Robert Molnar

BRAMPTON, ON – Chris Auger, Willie Corrin, and David Vallorani each scored a goal while Zachary Fucale stopped all of the 42 shots faced to lead the Brampton Beast (31-16-3-4, 69 pts) to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Florida Everblades (36-12-2-3, 77 pts) Sunday afternoon at the Powerade Center. The game marked the first game ever played in Canada by the Everblades in the team’s 19-year history. The Everblades close out the lengthy six-game road trip with a 3-3-0 mark.

Slow Start Costly as Grizzlies Defeat ‘Blades 4-3 by Keaton Hanley

Despite the pressure late, the Blades were unable to complete the comeback, and fell to their third western conference foe by a score of the 4-3.

The Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned forward Clark Bishop has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Hurricanes have also assigned goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic to the Everblades from Charlotte (AHL).

In addition, the Checkers have assigned forward Mitchell Heard (pictured above) to the Everblades.

As a result of today’s transactions, the Everblades have released goaltender Steve Racine.

Thursday that the team has acquired defenseman Mike Marcou from the Reading Royals in exchange for forwards Evan Bloodoff and Adam Brace.

In a related move, the Everblades traded defenseman Chase Golightly to the South Carolina Stingrays to fulfill the future considerations terms of a November 25 trade in which the Everblades received defenseman Danny New.   Subsequently, South Carolina has traded Golightly to the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations.
