Trade: W Nino Niederreiter for C Victor Rask (no joke)

Recommended Posts

Send him to MIN to go play with his brother again. Send Faulk with him, who was a Duluth Bulldog. Get Nino Niederreiter. Maybe take a contract. It all fits. Done.

Was Nino centering their 4th line with 3 fingers on one hand? What is his contract situation? Something doesn’t make sense if this trade was straight up w/us retaining no salary.

Agree, something else should be going on.

There you go. We are probably getting ready to move Ferland. But I still don’t see why Minnesota does this trade unless Ferland is headed there.

I would guess Nino wanted a changed.  And with Staal getting ready to leave, they wanted a center.

Put down Eric Staal all you want. No way Rask is in his league, even 25 year old Rask vs. 33 year old Staal. Not sure exactly how many games Rask played, but he has one goal and 5 assists. For $4 million/year.

Im not putting down Staal.  Based on Minnesota's lack of competing status, I dont see Eric staying there.  This gives them some insurance at the center position.  Yes Rask is a step down.  Just an insurance move I guess.  Im guessing here because the move doesnt make sense for them.

I don't think Rask was going to score another goal this year.  He's just dead weight.  I'm not expecting NN to be just what the doctor ordered either, but at least he has a heartbeat and has some speed. From that standpoint only, it's an improvement.

I'll still be ****** if they show Ferland the door.

Nino actually had decent past production...something we’ve never had with Rask.

and I think this says nothing about Ferland
