Justin Williams Showcase Night

PREVIEW

The trade deadline is over. Now it gets real.  It's up to the team that got us here to take us to the promised land.

The Hurricanes are just over the playoff line and chasing Montreal and Columbus for better position.

Carolina is coming home after a successful 2 game road trip.

LA is last in the west and next to last overall

The Kings are playing a back end of a back to back  after losing 4-3 in a shootout loss  in Tampa Bay last night

This is a team the Canes should be expected to beat. This is the type of team the Canes need to beat.

Nothing can be taken for granted in the NHL.

ONE GAME AT A TIME. ONE POINT(2) AT A TIME

(I'm a jerk, first and foremost)

Canes are +10.

According to SCS:

+11 gets in ~60% of the time

+12 gets in 75% of the time

+13 gets in 87% of the time

+14 gets in 95% of the time

+15 gets in 98% of the time

+16 gets in 99.5% of the time

20 games left.

10-9-1 to get to +11

11-9 to get to +12

11-8-1 to get to +13

12-8 to get to +14

12-7-1 to get to +15

13-7 to get to +16

Win tonight.  The math gets better.  We are going to do this.

The Kinks surely must be dead tired and completely demoralized after chasing around the best and fastest team in the league last night. Which of course means that they win 3 nil with Quick delivering a shutout...🤦‍♂️

I like the idea of having a few guys that can rotate a day off like Saku, McKegg, Wallmark and even Staal till he is up to full speed that's depth. I would however like to see Ferland, Nook, and McGinn on a line together just a few times. How heavy would that line be?

24 points through the rest of the season.

They played last night, went into a shootout and then had to travel here.

Go hard in the opening 20 and break those spirits early.  Then pour it on in the last 40.

I hate to say it but I have a bad feeling about this game.  The Kings have lost 8 straight.  I know they played last night but you know they're going to want to jump on us early; desperate teams are never easy to play against, especially when they haven't won a game in like forever.  We have to be ready, Mrazek has to be ready.  Jump on them early to to put pressure on them to come back again.  I don't want this game to be like the Ottawa game when Ottawa was here.

If we continue to play well like we have the last 25 games we have a shot.  Time for this team to show what they're made of.  Management likes the team.  They need to show it down the stretch on the ice.  Twenty games left, we need to play these last 20 like we did the previous 25.

Quick will probably pull a Lundqvist when the Rangers were last here.  Get 40 plus saves and win the game.  I hope not, but he shut out us out in LA.

Ray and Dave chased the Bolts last night?

Justin Williams will hang his jersey from the rafters--while still in it--if we lose to his old team in our barn, on his special night. This one could be over by the first intermission.
