Dzingel would be a very good addition at a decent price.

Dzingel won’t be signing for a decent price.

What is up with Darling?  Buyout window closes at noon today.  I thought he was supposed to be getting bought out.

He’s not gonna get bought out since we just bought out Marleau...that’s my bet

It cost us a 6th to dump Mongo? Good lord!

If Reimer, Forsling, and Ned are our goalies in Raleigh for next season, then we might as well book tee times...

DW pulls another rabbit out of the hat.

Quote

Reimer, 31, was 13-12-5 with a 3.09 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage in 36 games with Florida in 2018-19. The Morweena, Man., native has appeared in 338 career NHL games with Toronto, San Jose and Florida, going 144-120-39 with a 2.81 goals-against average and .913 save percentage

Reimer has two years remaining on a five-year contract with an AAV of $3.4 million. By comparison, Darling's AAV was $4.15 million (two years remaining).

Do we still try to sign Mrazek?  Doubtful but Maybe

Good lord y’all jump off the cliff quickly. Reimer will be the backup. He isn’t a number one.

This actually a good trade.  Here’s why:

Florida was gonna buyout Reimer.  Reimer’s buyout would be 400k cheaper this season but 1 million more expensive next season. So it makes sense from Florida’s standpoint because it’s cheaper next season for them to buy him out.

from our standpoint. We were going to buyout Darling anyways.  Were we going to get a backup for 400k?  No.  So we save money in the deal and fill a roster spot.

Are you *edit* kidding me!?!?  REIMER?  He was worse than Mongo!

He's not that bad, he has never finished a season with a sv % less than .900 and had pretty dam good numbers in 16-17 and 17-18 playing on a last place team.  Not the big goalie hero we were hoping for but he has longevity and consistency with his numbers while being on bad teams throughout is career..  I could see him having a bounce back year and killing it for us.  Or Ned takes over and Reimer becomes the back up.  If this is it for our goalie moves, we will see.  could be better could be worse. .

Every time I watched Reimer (which was a lot), he was getting lit up like a Christmas 🎄

Short of us signing another goalie in the next few days, my confidence in our playoff chances next year are zero with the current trio.  Here’s hoping Ned is ready...

Lebrun says we are still after Mrazek and Varlamov.  If that happens I dont feel so bad.

Either of them would be ok...

I will say I am definitely impressed with DW's creativity when it comes to making moves.

Me too...but sheesh...the timing on this sucks.  The SwampCats said two weeks ago they wanted to trade Reimer rather than buy him out...we could’ve easily accommodated them then and not 24 hours before the UFA derby

Isn't Varlamov injury prone?
