Can we start screening the fans behind the bench?

Yah, that entire bunch tonight needed to be removed right try after puck drop!

Reimer did have 2 weeks off. A little rust mixed with sloppy D and Ill advised penalties (Hamilton) and you see a less than stellar performance.

Yeah,he needs to get his reps. Can't ride Petr all the way. We had multiple days off between games before this back to back so it was tough for him to see action.

A few of the guys came to play, but an equal amount of passengers.  Reimer's worst game of the season.  Some of the team's bad habits of the past have moved on, but they still tend to play down to the level of their competition.  Need to have a killer instinct against these teams and stop going into games thinking they have a win before hitting the ice.  Confidence is nice but the effort has to back it up.

Meh.

Anybody know what happened with the wiz bang goalie we were developing in Charlotte?

Ned hasn’t been too hot either

They're interviewing Jordan Staal - he played tonight?

I thought that was Jared Staal on the ice

Jared was way more-noticeable in his Hurricane games than Jordan was tonight - at least he showed up to play.

Sorry man...it was just as brutal on TV.

And will Tripp PLEASE stop the Statler & Waldorf already?  It’s stale!

Rod wasn’t happy with Aho’s play tonight.

reimer wasnt great but the team in front of him didn’t give him much of a chance.

This.  I love Tripp but he does tend to take things way past their expiration date, and this one expired after the first night.

Canes had a good, even very good first period, but that late period PP goal meant a 2-2 game at first intermission.  The rest of the game was uneven, with defensive lapses and missed offensive opportunities galore.  Canes forwards were in love with dropped pass turnovers upon entering the Devils zone versus driving the net or at least firing one on net.  Referring was not great either...

Sounds like I picked a good night to be social with the family and I shouldn't watch the replay.

You are a lucky man if you missed that

His turnover on their tying goal was brutal. It's real easy to see when this team has lot interest, the lack of it always shows up between the blue lines.

That said, and not giving them a pass, but again, best team in hockey since January coming off 60 full minutes of warp-speed play the prior night. Both of these opponents were desperate for a win and both played like it. In a back-to-back under those circumstances, the odds of miscues and fatigue catching up with the team that prevailed the first night only increases as the second game rolls on.

On to the Big Pretzel.
