Nov 30th- Predators vs Canes 7pm

Big black Friday savings for the game.  $25 for Uppers and $50 for lowers.  Also wearing our alternate 3rd jerseys!!!

Today the real challenge begins.  We go from the easiest strength of schedule to the hardest remaining strength of schedule over night.

Predators play a hard nosed fore check brand of hockey who are surprisingly only 11-9-3.  They have their own drama with Turris going on.  They have also had a very mixed bag of results over their last 10 games.  Swept a home and home with the Blues, got taken to the woodshed by the Blackhawks and Avalanche, whooped the Red Wings, and lost close ones to the Rangers, Sharks, and Jets. Preds lost in OT on Wednesday.

Not sure which team we will see on Friday but, definitely shouldn't be taken lightly.

Things to keep an eye on:

Who is in goal? I assume Petr is in net due to his run at home.

Is Fleury still bench bound?

Duchene vs Staal faceoff battle.

Josi vs Hamilton

Our secondary scoring versus their 2nd scoring

Who has the biggest turkey hangover?

We got this! Nashville is not a Metro division team so we’re cool!!👍🏽👌🏽

Nashville is a bottom 10 team. We might be in trouble.

Were going to rebound and run the Preds out of the building. Canes are ****** about losing Wednesday night and will get back on track. Book it! 😎

God, I hope so...cause tomorrow in Tampa won’t be a cakewalk.  I’m most likely sitting this one out tonight, as it’s mini-me’s 7th and we’ve got a full day planned before day 1 of the Mouse tomorrow.  Enjoy,

y’all.

Let's try not getting down 0-2 or 0-3 out of the gate. Come to think of it, let's not go up 2-0 right away either.

Nashville is NHL .500 on the road, and are really a mid pack team because of fewer games played. In fact dead center of the league at #16, and at #7 in the West, a playoff team, and they are #14 in goal diff. Don't get me wrong, we should beat them, but not if we take them lightly. Also, they are probably more dangerous than their record.

Gotta keep pace with a very difficult East. Can't really believe Pittsburgh sans Kessel and mostly without one of either Malkin or Crosby has slid ahead of us into Metro 3. I'd love the NYI or Washington to go on a huge slide, but owning that Metro 3 with some space would be pretty nice.

So, get this one.

A couple of years ago it was rumored that Nashville offered Rinne to us for the #2 pick. So, I'm hoping we get Rinne (in net against us tonight) and that Svech puts up a hat trick on him.

JR would’ve offered us two goalies, their first, and a bag of pucks ;)

Not really apropos of anything about the game, but with all the negative attention focused on Peters, Lavi has had an unusually long tenure in Nashville. Like Torts, his shelf life had previously been no more than 3 years (Isles, Canes, Flyers). After early success in Carolina and Philly, by year 3 he was clearly losing the team. So is Nashville’s talent level down, or is Peter starting to lose the room in Nashville? Still early in the year, but I think a lot more was expected from the Preds than what they have shown so far. Let’s hope they have a stinker left in them for tonight.

Game Day Brindy

More Brindy

Rod Brind'Amour on Clark Bishop, who will center the fourth line: "I'm hoping to see a little of what Bish brought last year. ... He's got that physical, gritty style and fits to what we're doing, that's for sure."

I've been a fan of Bishop's from the first time i saw him play with the Chex.  I concur with all of the speculation that his ceiling is 4th-line/PK, but i think he has the potential to be one of the best 4th/PK specialists we've had.  I approve of this callup...

I always liked the black. Since debuting their third jerseys last summer, the Hurricanes own a 19-4-2 record in the black thread, including a 3-0-0 record this season.

I'm mixed.

The few times Bishop has been up he really didn't do much, and I thought Luostrainen had been doing well.

But it may be that realm has a larger observation number than us here, thus may have a better feel for Bishop? Then, he might bring more grit needed against the Preds than Luostarinen, thus the switch? We'll see 1st hand tonight.

Bishop's and Eetu's NHL stats are quite comparable, with Eetu being a little better on faceoffs but Bishop a little more-inclined to hit.  Bishop is more defensively-sound in Charlotte and is also a mainstay on the PK, which is an aspect to his game that hasn't really been tapped into in the NHL.  Eetu should bring more scoring, but despite doing a lot of things right, so far hasn't.  I can't make the call as to who is the better option long-term, but i do think Bishop showed as much last season as Eetu's shown this season.
