Well, our last shift of the 2nd period looked like it might generate something.

You still think these Canes can play 20 minutes of good hockey and win against elite teams (Caps and TB)?

I would damand a refund on the way out.

Tell the front office they paid to come see a competitive hockey game, not warmups.

The comcern is, are the Canes playing like the team they are, or is this just an abomination?

Defense. Petr should have stopped one of those. On top if that he has bailed out the D at least twice. Just plain crap passing and right in front of their own goal too.

Personally, I think that too many days off aren't a good thing for us. Imo, it messes with our rhythm.

That is a good point.  Now that you mention that if we're still playing quite well then March might actually help us.  Even though it's a grind that month we have a lot of B2B'ers and 3 games in 4 nights and that should definitely keep us in our rhythm.  Got to find it first and I hope we find it before then and start racking up some wins between now and then.

This is about the time last year when the identity settled in. Long overdue this year. The flip flop nature of this year is startling. From borderline elite to bottom feeder every 4-6 days. WTH. Rod's gotta be getting very little sound sleep. Least maybe I 'll catch an upswing when there next weekend.

Have faith. Every team in the league goes through this. Just remember there are 82 of these. They do have to get it figured out though.

Have we been out of a playoff spot this year? If so not for more then a day or 2

The scoreboard says that hits are even at 14, but I want quality over quantity.  Canes’ “hits” have been weak sauce.  We need some intensity in the third.

And, lord almighty, stop clearing the puck from the corner to the top of Peter’s crease.  🙁

And if we lose tonight we'll still hold the 1st WC so we won't lose any ground.  We won't gain any either but we won't lose ground although teams chasing us like FL will gain on us if they beat Pitt but we won't lose any ground.  A loss is easier to take if you don't lose ground in the playoff race (especially if you're above the cut line).

But, we're playing at home and gotta start playing better in front of the home crowd.  The crowd has been scary quiet tonight and I can see why.

Dont disagree with any of this, it's just not the end of the world. Thankfully we get the Flyers next and regardless of what happens tonight a win over them put us in a really good spot.

Looks like Stamkos, Kucherov, Lecavalier and Martin St Louis vs. LaRose, Dalpe, Boychuk and Brendl

Wow, that's really going down memory lane.
