caniac23 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Well written sentiment. The commercialism at Fenway is just rediculous. http://www.boston.com/sports/columnists/wilbur/2008/06/26/force_feed_fenway/' target="_blank">http://www.boston.com/sports/columnists/wi...ce_feed_fenway/[/post] Oh man, having ADD is just ridiculous.... I started reading that article and saw that the "adorable hats" was a link, and started reading why Pink hats were so hated. lol.... Bostonians should lighten up. I know a couple of hard core Yawkey yoohoo's who have pink hats. The guys could care less, but the women like them because it's more feminine.
warbird-1 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 So, Sox @ Rays tonight. I must say, I have about the same feeling in my gut about this series as I did before when the Canes played in Washington. We're the more established team going in to play the up & comers on their turf. Hopefully this turns out better, but the pitching matchups aren't in our favor. Asylum44 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 wow, as if this series could get any more stress placed on it......there isnt a single team better offensively than tampa or boston when it comes to the last 3 innings, boston just about stunned half of tampa tonight. rollinsox007 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Man, we are getting killed by Manny right now. I know he got some RBIs in Houston, but he is striking out at an alarming clip right now. I'm hoping it is just a product of all the ridiculous off-field distractions (even though he brought them on himself), but we really need him to start hitting. Same for Jacoby and Tek. It doesn't bode well for an offense already without Ortiz to have some major slumps going on. I also think Oki needs some time off. He was unhittable last season and he even had an ERA under 1 through May this season. He is just in an ugly funk right now. We need to make some moves for some BP help if his struggles are going to continue. Good news is that even though Drew has slumped a bit after being red hot, he is still hitting some bombs. Pedroia's mashing it right now too. Hopefully Dice can get 'em back on track tomorrow though.
caniac23 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 The player sightings thread reminded me of something.... I saw Boomer at a Publix we were shopping at. Looked at him, saw a Sox hot on him, and I was like... man that guy was pretty big... and then it clicked... "Boomer!". He turned around and just smiled and nodded. No one else had the foggiest idea who he was. One good thing about spring training down here, you get to see players that normal Bostonians and New Yorks would recognize in a NY Minute. SeaSpud Report post Posted July 1, 2008 For the first time rays have 50 wins before all star break. I actually think it might be the first time they got 50 in a single season. I think they are going to either win the AL east or at least get the Wild Card. Rick Crawford should go to the All Star Game. Maybe not as a starter but at least in the rotation. warbird-1 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 You know, I was glad the Rays were doing well this season. Now its just getting annoying, lol. Indeed, the feeling is eerily familiar to how I and many of us felt about the Caps. Their story stopped being so warm and fuzzy when their success came at our expense. We gotta stop falling behind. Get a jump on them, don't let them and their crowd start feeling all good about themselves. Step on their throats when we can.
SeaSpud Report post Posted July 3, 2008 I just hope that the Bucs and the Lightning Try to do the same thing down in the Bay. <_<
