First Trailer for the new Bond Movie, Quantum of Solace, has just been released:

http://www.moviefone.com/movie/quantum-of-solace/26922/main

It really looks amazing. After Casino Royale, and from what we've seen so far from QoS, Bond really does look like he is back in fine form. Brosnan was a great Bond, but they just hired really poor casts and writers to compliment him. His whole time as Bond was one big missed opportunity in my book. They seem committed to make great movies with Craig though and I simply cannot wait to see this film.

Also early reviews are pouring in for The Dark Knight, and it is supposed to be nothing short of spectacular. I've seen multiple 5/5 star reviews. I was disappointed by Indy, it wasn't a bad film it just didn't live up to the originals, but thank goodness for The Dark Knight and Quantum of Solace.

I've yet to see Get Smart and Wall E, but I've heard a lot of good things about both.

I can't wait to see the dark knight, there are few movies you can tell are going to be great months ahead of time and I believe this one might be one of the best of the year imo. I wanna see wall-e too :P

I slept through "wall-e". The trailers were much better than than the movie, though the kids did like it.

I'll let you be the judge. It was snoozer to me and I consider myself a big kid too.

Now, "Kungfoo Panda" was pretty good. ;)

loved wall-e. however it really seems to be one of those "you either love it or hate it" movies...I mean TSA's comment "I slept through it" is something I've heard a lot...either that or "instant classic"...no middle ground reviews.

Batman one looks good too...was so glad when the series was revived with the 2005 hit...seems like they've finally gotten it down right now. Bale is the real thing, good actor for this action role. He's also doing the T-4 movie next year, another classic series, and my personal favorite. No more Arnold (yay)!

Get Smart was fantastic! Steve Carrell was great as well as the rest of the cast. I recommend you go see it soon!

I agree it was way better than I expected. He makes a Idiot out of himself when he tries to be serious. My favorite Part was where they took the Ferrari out of the shed thinking everyone in Russia had one.

I know it wasn't released in '08 but...

I just finished watching the Star Wars trilogy (the prequels) all in a row.... WOW  I tried to watch the original remastered 3, but the wife finally put her foot down. Never saw them before up until this point, kinda had them for rainy days and without tv (such as today). Good movies, I wanna see the remastered ones and see if they've added things to it. Saw the original years years ago (no, I'm not that old...) and loved them. Can't wait to see them now...

Wait I'm confused by the prequels do you mean the ones in the 70's/80's or the newer ones? Either way I'm surprised to hear you've never seen either of them until now. Its a little nerdy to say, but they're definitely classics.

No, the ones made in the late 90's and beyond. I love Star Wars. I'm not a SW geek or anything, but I truly love the films. The epitome of good vs evil. I disliked the 3rd because, if you've seen the ones made in the 70's/80's, it all leads to those. Really good films, classics. I know some people didn't like them, but I thought the Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogies were good too. The first ones always the best, but still, good trilogies. As was Lord of the Rings.

That movie looks dark, the Dark Knight I mean. Like, literally dark and disturbing, heavy stuff... plus what happened with Ledger.

I saw handcock this weekend, it was ok, it wasn't a great movie, but it wasn't bad either. I didn't care for the 'twist' either, it was a much better movie before that point. The movie had a clear purpose up until that point, and it seemed rather unnecessary when it was fine with the direction it was going.

I heard hellboy 2 also has got some good early reviews, I thought the first movie was under-appreciated and this one looks really cool, though I might have to wait til later to see that one due to dark knight coming out the following week.

"Bale is the real thing, good actor for this action role." re-one of bale's role before batman, if you haven't seen Equilibrium, stop drop and roll, go rent this movie, one of the best movies never advertised to the public at large.

I'm not a Batman fan or anything, but I loved Batman Begins and the Dark Knight looks amazing. From what I've heard is that its only flaw is that it may be a little long. It definetly doesn't sound like a movie for kids, all the reviews say it is disturbing, dark and haunting, but in the end nearly every review says it will be a classic.

Word on Hellboy 2 is that it is supposed to be pretty entertaining as well, but I have seen nothing but bad things about Hancock. I've heard it is more like 3 separate movies, a comedy then superhero film, then drama. As pumped as I am for The Dark Knight, I'm an immensely huge Bond fan and November 7th just can't come soon enough for me.

I was torn by Hancock. Loved it when it was just "drunk superhero" movie, but as soon as they started digging into his past, I lost interest.

And TDK is going to break records, I'll tell you that much.

I did decide to see hellboy 2 last weekend and it was a good movie much better than handcock; funny, action packed, and pretty much spot on with my expectations for it. The director is very imaginative with his creatures and story. ^_^ Admittedly it had some lose ends, but overall worth seeing at the theater.

Now for the summer blockbuster finale this week... :)

I posted this in the The Dark Knight thread, but I figured I'd post it in here as well:

Just saw it. Best film of the year so far, best film of the last I don't know how many years. Sure it was a superhero film, but this film was SO much more. Not even the excellent Batman Begins can say that. For the entire 2.5 hours I didn't think about anything else at all, it was one of those rare movies where you literally are so engrossed in the film that you just don't think about anything, you just watch.

Ledger deserves an Oscar for this film. Plan and simple. His lines were scary but at the same time unsettlingly funny. I know that sounds weird, but those who have seen the film know what I'm trying to say.

It is one of those films that you HAVE to see multiple times to really get the full experience. Right after this film I even asked myself if I really, actually enjoyed this film, but after thinking about it, it was more that we've never seen a superhero film like this before. It was so different, it was really hard to talk about it and remember all the details. You try to compare it to something and just cannot. It was more of a suspense thriller/human drama than an action/superhero movie.

There was so much tension, you really felt like no one in this movie was safe from being killed. The enjoyment factor is there, but I think to really enjoy the film to the fullest you have to see it a few times to get over the darkness and complexity on the surface.

Hancock was okay. I think it was more of the humor that we all liked though. The plot in it was... well... lacking. Plus I could have done w/o the his name really being "John Hancock", which is just plain weird.

Quantum of Solace trailer looks really good... taking off right where Casino Royale let off.

And I admit, John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell together again in Stepbrothers... looks funny.

Still, nothing beats Dark Knight.

Yeah, as much as I love Bond, The Dark Knight will be the film of the year. The Dark Knight was just an absolute masterpiece of a film. I think the hype helped it as well. One thing I wish the Bond producers would do is advertise as much as the Batman producers did, but I think they probably know people will go see Bond with, or without all the press.

From what I've seen from Quantum of Solace it looks to be great as well, probably on the level of CR, maybe even a little better. Also Quantum seems to have a really good game being released along side it as well. We just haven't seen all that much footage from QoS yet, so I'm trying to keep my excitement in check until October. ;)

I've heard Hellboy 2 is supposed to be really good, but it was a real boneheaded move to release it just a week before TDK. They had to have known that TDK would run Hellboy out of the Box Office.
