It's interesting how giddy some people can get when they think they see a chink in the armour of the Sabre's faithful. The Sabres still had tickets left? No. sorry.

If you recall from your brief playoff history experience, when you didn't sell the tickets alloted to your city, they bounced back to the home team to be made available for real fans. That is, you got online just after tickets were made available to the Sabres because the Rangers were unable to sell their alloted share. As someone said earlier, the Sabres share has always been soldout and when teams give additional shares, grab em while you can because come game time your only hope is scalpers. This isn't to say Sabre fans are better then Cane's fans or Ranger fans. Fans are fans. But hockey does run more passionately in the north.

"brief playoff history experience"- ?

Your description of alloted shares pertains to college bowl game maybe but not the NHL. Allotted shares are for friends/family, etc. of the visiting team.

To avoid the whole ticket issue again, here's the brief version of reality. The Canes management jacked up prices last year for the playoffs to such and extent that many STH'ers didn't buy playoff strips which left a good amount of tickets available. Scalping is illegal here so that became another dynamic. They also ran a promo for this season giving new STH'ers playoff priority last year and when some of those set-asides didn't sell another batch of tickets were made available.

Buffalo fans were treated better and got rock bottom prices throughout. However, many came here preening about quick ticket sales without bothering to know the facts.

This year it seems that Buffalo fans are paying a greater price for playoff tickets so more are being made available. Ok, so what? I think we can relate to that.

Move on. Nothing to see here.

Wow what a great game by Avery,,,looks like he can write checks,,just can't cash them!!!!

No kidding, I guess his self proclaimed war of words bit him in the butt just a bit. I hope to see a smarter Rangers team in the next game. We'll see if Renney makes the necessary adjustments to the Sabre's speed. They're lucky the Sabre's PP is slumping cause that score could have been uglier.
