Guest Report post Posted July 26, 2007 Well, it looks like he'll keep the cover. They'll just change it around a little. Someone's been very busy
GreatsavebyGerber Report post Posted July 26, 2007 He's legal. Its not like he was drinking underage unlike his younger brother Jordan. It was a bachelor party, what'd you expect. And Its not like they were drinking and driving either. When you get 20 some young guys together with beer, their gonna get obnoxious and be loud and disorderly. Crap, I'm surprised I wasn't arrested for half the parties I've been too. yeah That sucks jordan's only 18!!! Tough to imagine that things could've gone worse for the Brothers Staal, but just think if they'd been boozing it up in a public locale -- a bar, a restaurant, any place that serves alcohol. As the co-owner of a wine shop with a tasting room, I own a liquor license that can be revoked at any time by my state's Alcoholic Beverage Control department if I were to sell or serve wine to anyone under 21. That's why I've asked about five people for their IDs this last week -- my very livelihood depends on my not selling or serving wine (or ale, which is also on our shelves) to underage folks. slim-1 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 haha well i just would like to add that this story made my day. snaps to the boys for having a good time at their party! to those who dislike the "no big deal" comments and those who are thinking "what if they were to drive..." uhhhhm do you honestly think they didn't have access to a vehicle? they could've EASILY gotten a car and driven. obviously they have some common sense and they know it's not a good thing to drink and drive. the drinking age should be lowered (okay i'm going off topic here), and it disappoints me that a small fraction of those stupid enough to drink and drive have to ruin it for the majority of people who don't do it. thanks and have a nice day! model-citizen-1 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 OK, first of all, he was just drunk, its not like he was drinking and driving. Secondly, isn't this his bachelor's party? Shoot, if you're not that drunk during that, your friends have failed you. Also, about Jordan being drunk as well... only a big deal because he was underaged, and this is kind of hypocritical for people to make a big deal out of this when they themselves were able to drink when they were 18... Plus, go to any college in the United States and you'll find PLENTY of 18 year olds wasted at parties... this whole thing is a non-story IMHO
IceFrog999 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 That's pretty much what everyone's said throughout the entirety of the topic.
cup-crazy-1 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 I agree it was a bachelor party and who doesn't get plastered at one be it boys or girls. Not good being caught drinking underage now a days but....when a team wins the Cup I'm sure EVERYONE celebrates!!!!!! One thing I don't get,,,if they were all drinking and when the sheriffs were there to escort them out...did they let them drive or were they all walking off the resort property??? If they were walking where were they suppose to go....if they were driving - wellllllll - oh, sounds like a set-up. Love the newest look of NHL 08 IceFrog999 What do you think itStaalgood12???????? Anyway, I'll have one for you Eric.
krouire Report post Posted July 26, 2007 Too bad they weren't in Canada, since 18 is the legal drinking age up there. For those of you interested, The drinking age in Ontario is 19, and here in Manitoba, (right next door to Ontario), it is 18. Walking with open liquor in a public place is an offence punishable by bonking yourself in the head a few times for being so stupid, having the cops take your booze away, getting a fine of around $90, which, as long as you don't tick off the police officer, is given to ONE member of the group. Then you spend 2 weeks trying to get the money that everybody promised to chip in to pay the fine... Go Ahead, ask me how I know...
Godzilla1960 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 This is a stupid non-story. They should have never been arrested. Tell them to turn down the music, give them a warning, and go fight real crime.

caniac-97 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 But who doesn't do things they're not proud of when they're 22? Not I, asu. When I was 22, I lived at home ... under the obsessively watchful eye of two ultra-strict parents (my mom was a 4'11" Nazi, IMHO, who could kill with an angry expression). If that wasn't enough, I maintained a full and demanding academic schedule at CSU Fullerton, the university from which I earned my B.A. What can I say? I'm a party animal now, at age 45 ... within limits of legality and decency, that is. (Sorry to go so far off topic, but Mr. GSBG and I will be participating in a major fundraising event this Friday for our local Chamber of Commerce, in which we need to be party people at our most exuberant: http://www.yorbalindachamber.org/pgm-cal-d...5a354f1d0ff9ce7) Anyway, folks, here's to Eric's and Jordan's learning from their collective mistake. Jan/GSBG Not to worry Jan, when I was 22 I created enough havoc for both of us. I have your back on this one! LOL
caniac-97 Report post Posted July 26, 2007 the paper today said that eric was in his room trying to sleep when all the ruckus happened. so it sounds like he was behaving and is guilty by association. they did the right thing by being at a hotel and not driving, it is what they should do. Bet his wife-to-be wasn't too happy with him Wife to be isn't wife yet and considering what she is getting I would keep silent if I was her. She will have plenty of time to put him in the doghouse later. LOL

cheapseats Report post Posted July 26, 2007 Well, from reading the various reports, it is obvious that young Jordan is completely out of control and heading for a Lohan. My guess is that the only reason that Eric was even at the party was to try to protect his baby brother. If the Pens truly cared about his well being, they should release him and have him play for the Carolina Hurricanes where his loving older brother can take him under his wing and help him get through this crisis. I think that about 3 years should do it. cheap
