LaRose Making the Most of his Opportunity

Recommended Posts

Nice read and great for Chad! He reminds me of the way all players should feel... Its an honor to be playing a game for money and something you did for fun for 20 years. As Wardo says " Have fun"

Flash back to October 2005, LaRose and Williams come out of the side door at the Rec Zone and Everyone starts yelling for autograghs, Chad didn't quite know what to do and was very modest (as he always is ) about it . J Willy said "Welcome to the bigs Chad" or something to that effect. I thought Chads face would explode with the smile he had.

That, to me, is what Hockey in Raleigh is all about. And Chad LaRose is and always will stand out to me for that selfless dedication to the TEAM and his never say quit attitude.

My husband and I went to Casino night in 2006, and even though we were WAY out of our league and had no business being there, there were a few unforgettable moments from that night. One of them was Chad. He was alone, looking at some of the stuff they had for auction, so Sean goes up and says, "Hi, my name is Sean" and Chad grabs his hand to shake it and says, "Hey man! I'm Chad! How's it going?!" with great enthusiasm and of cource, he had that huge grin on his face. You could tell that he was so happy just to be there. He was just like a little kid, running around, taking pictures. It was great. Even through last season when things were so tough, he was a bright spot on the ice and off. I don't know how many games that we left talking about all the things he did that will never show up on the scoresheet.
