The Official VoteForWallin.com thread

Recommended Posts

I think some clarification may be needed to get the vote in correctly.

1) You have to register at: http://fanballoting.nhl.com/vote

2) You can then get to the voting screen where you can select as few 1 player or vote for all positions for both conferences.

3) Under the East defenceman catagory, write in "Nclas Wallin" in the white box. After a second or two, his name will appear as drop down choice.

4) You have to click that choice and click enter to get his ID to register and his picture will appear up top.

5) Then you can click the submit vote tab

The voting site is still quite slow and I'm tired of waiting for the site to recognize Wallin's last name. I found out that if you cut and paste Wallin's last name and ID code (below) and paste it into the empty box, the site will still recognize it and it's MUCH quicker this way... at least on my end!

Niclas Wallin [id: 8468577]

One of the benefits of having an admin job and two monitors on my desk is I can vote all day long :D So far, it's a slow day at work.

Recognition of the site has hit Puck Daddy as well. :D

How bout that....

Niclas Wallin, Carolina Hurricanes: "The Secret Weapon" has a rather amazing fan-created campaign site pimping his candidacy. Whether that translates into votes is another matter, but the MSM has already taken notice in the form of News & Observer blogger Luke DeCock. Political Movement or Passing Fancy: Passing fancy. But a killer Web site, no doubt.

Check out his Yahoo player page:

This is awesome exposure, guys. I'm just glad to be a part of it.

However, unless y'all are having better luck than me getting into the voting site, we're not gonna do any damage. I was able to get 3 votes in earlier today. Then it froze up on me, and I still can't access it.

The ulimate goal is to get him voted in but recognition for Wallin, the Canes and us fans is also a goal.

If the league wants to be so vague about the period of time they evaluate players for the All Star ballot and what to them makes an All Star player, they'd better be prepared for the fans' interpretations of what makes an All Star to them too..

yeah it has definitely crashed. i was able to get a bunch in (slowly but they're in) and haven't been able to get in since about 2:00. i guess we should just keep trying and hope that it opens up. but the fact that it's gaining this kind of attention is incredible. i hope that someone tells nic.

Well good luck to this campaign...I must admit I'm surprised at how well it has taken off. I was firmly against the "Vote for Rory" act a few years ago (when was that?), and the same feelings hold strong here. Wallin isn't, nor has ever been, an all-star defensivemen. But as was mentioned in the 'Canes blog, this seems to be more of a protest against the NHL's all-star balloting system, which I agree is biased and ridiculous.

Maybe we also need to add some Swedish writing on the site in case we get some visitors ;)
