Gleason

Recommended Posts

Anyone know anything about his injury from the Florida game? Looked REALLY bad.

I think I remember reading that he was supposed to have an MRI today.

That article says:

The Charlotte Observer reports that Tim Gleason practiced Monday after reaggravating an ankle injury last Thursday against Florida.Gleason's status is not yet known for the Hurricanes' game tomorrow night in Ottawa. The defenseman missed Carolina's 5-1 loss to Boston Saturday because of the ankle.

phew, thats good.

When I saw the hit and his reaction, I immediatly was thinking torn ACL.

to be honest with you, i was afraid of that being the case as well-it looked really bad. john forslund called into 99.9 the fan the next day and was talking about it quite a bit actually. gleason told him/the trainers that he rolled his ankle slightly and also caught an "inadvertent knee" to the back of his calf which caused it to immediately cramp up and that's why he couldn't skate off the ice and looked to be in such pain-an instant charlie horse apparently. (sorry that was a really long sentence.)

this is the link for forslund's interview.

I was unable to watch the rest of that game, and didn't see the hit. I can find videos on youtube for just about everything else in the world but not that hit.

AH that makes sense. Good info.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought torn ACL based on the hit and the way Gleason reacted.

i don't know if you were on the GDT when it happened, but everyone (myself included) immediately started freaking out about it. at the end of the game, i am pretty sure that our two biggest concerns were torn ACL or broken something. the hockey gods smiled on us and luckily it's not too bad. hope he's back in the lineup soon.

If Gleason remains out for a few more games, does that mean Kaberle comes back up from Albany? Or, did he even go down to Albany? I know when Wallin was out they kept him up.

kabs played against boston and would probably be in the lineup tomorrow if gleason isn't healthy. frank never actually made it to Albany because of the Wallin injury and has been in the press box since wallin returned.

He was never actually assigned to Albany, he was only put on waivers. And yeah he did play the other night.

Boy is it a relief to hear Gleason is OK, we need him in the line up as much as possible. Also golfpro, I was thinking broken ankle rather than ACL, but that was just a guess and I'm glad it isnt serious.

I thought he re injured the same ankle even worse to the point where it might be broken, but all of that is irrelevant now and I'm just glad he's skating and okay.

He practiced the whole time at practice in Ottawa..He must be in ok shape if he is able to handle a full practice. I'm sure they will play Kabs if gleason isn't ready, afterall Kabs did get an assist against bosten haha :]...he seems to wanna get outta the press box!

No one ever wants to be in the press box, well except Pavel Brindl.
