Why pittsburgh?

Recommended Posts

They're probably getting overrun by trolls and shut it down to keep the rif raf out. Its always an option if things get out of hand. Id like to think that this board wont get to that point and we've done just fine in all the previous series around here.

That's exactly it. Going into the playoffs, we were looking at facing the Flyers, it got pretty bad last season with the influx of trolls from there, so they shut down registration. Then the second round started up, and I imagine they decided to stick with it to keep the Caps trolls at bay.

I really have no idea why they're still shut down, tho.

The Penguins are part of the old Patrick Division (DC, NYC, Philly). The fans of each team have a strong tendency to flame each other's boards and ruin the fun conversation that occurs between people who are fans of the team. By "strong" we mean, it happens before and after every game and during series it gets especially nasty. Penguin fans have also had a tendency to engender a lot of wrath from the fans of teams outside old rivalries. Some of the wrath is earned; some of it isn't.

Part of the fun of the message boards is for fans to bond the way fans do.

"The board administrator is no longer accepting any new registrations at the moment."

This is from the pittsburgh penguin site and message board.........any explanation?

This looks like as good a place to say this:

For all our members and visiting guests...

We will not tolerate any bad language, baiting and starting flame wars or responding to obvious trolls. We have staff that keeps a close eye on this board 24/7 and the support from the Canes front office. As the intensity of the playoffs increases, so do the emotions on the board. Please think before you respond to a post or start a thread, and if there's any question as to the intentions of the post of thread, it will be removed. If you have a concern with a post or thread, report it. One of us is always around and will deal with it immediately.

**If you respond to an obvious troll, you now become part of the problem and will have your posting privileges revoked. The last thing we want is to punish our own members because of the behavior of some idiot opposing fan that only came to stir the pot. We've had minimal issues leading up to this series and are pleased with the way everyone here has respected each other as well as the few opposing fans that had registered to talk hockey. Lets not screw this up now.

For our visitors from Pittsburgh...

We welcome fans of all teams here and enjoy the opposing point of view. We've had many fans of the opposition contribute to the discussions while respecting the fact that this IS A CAROLINA HURRICANES message board. A board where Canes fans should feel comfortable to post their opinions without being attacked or flamed by the opposing fans. The staff here, as well as the Canes front office keep a close eye on this board and we will respond very quickly if we feel the integrity and quality of this board is being compromised in any way. There will be NO warnings so think before your click.

Thanks for reading.
