Top five teams you LOVE in the NHL

Recommended Posts

1. canes obviously

Anyone else is no particular reason or rhyme

I suppose I enjoy particular match ups more then teams, like the classic rivarlies, edm vs cal or det vs col for example.

You mean those are all teams that instigate or teams that most Canes fans hate?

I meant that he was instigating. He choose teams like Edmonton, Vancouver and Ottawa that the Canes have lost to recently along with Montreal and Buffalo who have combined to be 4-1 against Carolina this year.

He wrote before that he roots for whoever plays the Canes.

My selection criterion for the excessive amount of hockey I watch on CI:

1. Hurricanes

2. Whatever team is playing the Sabers

3. Whatever team has a goalie I like to watch

4. Goalie matchups

5. Division rivalries

LOL.......I think thats funny. I can see why one would think that...maybe. It's a stretch but the reality is ,those are the teams I like and respect and in that order. Nothing to do with canes...(note: not everything revolves around the canes or my karmanos hatred), sometimes I just have an opinion based just on hockey.

And ofcourse I root for any team playing the canes but I have managed to remain respectful of the great fans here. Tell ya what have karmanos sell the team to anyone and the canes will move up my like list.

(it would be a boring message board without opposing viewpoints)

1. The 'Canes

2. The 'Canes again

3. Whoever's playing Buffalo

4. Whoever's playing New Jersey

5. Any team from the South playing any team from the North

enjoy the south while it lasts.....once Nashville, Atlanta and Carolina go down in the standings. It will happen, no team can stay at or near the top forever. Once they go down, the casual fans go away.

I see Florida, Nashville and Atlanta gone in the next 5 -10 years

There you go, corrected that typo for you! :)

LOL....is a good idea for an allstar game or the cup champions, (forget who that was last year) vs the rest of the NHL's best.

We lost the war. We were wrong. We know. I shouldn't even say "we," the South of the 1860s is not one I align myself with. The people that fly the Confederate flag see it as more of a symbol of the South than of a slaveholding nation. I, personally, am not one of those people, but the ones that do that are not operating under the illusion that the war is still going on and they're not a bunch of racists. I went to high school with a lot of these people, trust me. We hear enough of this crap from Buffalo fans (sorry dboon and Melissa).

Back to hockey...an All-Star game like that would be VERY interesting. The play on the ice would be the same, but the banter among the fans would be less than cordial, I think. It wouldn't be as polarizing, though, as splitting the league into Northern and Southern Conferences...imagine what they'd be saying north of the Mason-Dixon, knowing some "redneck" city would get a shot at the Cup every year... :D

Of course, I'm not advocating that, it would be a horrible system. But actually doing the All-Star Game in that format for one year? It would be something to see.
