Skate with the Canes

Recommended Posts

I was on ticketmaster as soon as it changed to "Look for Tickets" - and nothing available - either Box Office started selling before 10 or didn't really release any for ticketmaster sales. I don't believe the story yesterday that the errors occurring through when trying to get tix through Account Manager right from the start were because tickets sold out fast, either. GRRRRR....

You have too much faith in ticketmaster, they really stink. that is why i went down to the rbc center yesterday at 8:45am and stood in line.

Thanks ... I did just get 2 through account manager at 10:20 ---- Yesterday our ticket rep told me explicitly that Weds. tix would not be available through Account Manager - but sure looks like that info was wrong!

I got online to see if they were still available and they are (11:09 am). We're probably not going this year but just wanted to see if we changed our minds. Not thrilled about the ticketmaster fees but too lazy to go to RBC (we'll be there tonight anyhow).

For giggles I went on Ticketmaster at 11:15am and I was able to pull 2.

I didn't buy, but seems their still out there for purchase. Not sure why the box office has been telling people their sold out.

Me too.

I was @ RBC center by 7:30 this morning, was 10th in line, they started selling just prior to 10....say 9:56, and were sold out by 10:02. I was able to get my 8 tickets, and now just jumped online and bought another 2.

RBC center was quite hospitable, bought us donuts and allowed us to use the ATM machine when the sales guys informed us that using cash would be quicker.

Wow. Last year I arrived at 9:55 am and was 8th in line. Bought 5 without issue. I wonder if they have certain groups and they're assigning each group to one place (i.e. red group are STH, blue are RBC purchasers, green are ticketmaster online) which is why they are "selling out" when they aren't really sold out.

I get the email alerts when tickets are on sale for different events at the RBC and I saw the Skate with the Canes event and even though I can't get tickets this year I wanted to see if they were available still and as of 5 minutes ago they were. Must not be selling as quickly today.

It looks like they sold them in groups (my theory, at least) so they were still being sold online when they were "sold out" at the RBC.

ETA - they are now sold out everywhere now. It is a fun event but we're saving our money for Casino Night and the auction. We've been to both and have had a lot more fun at the latter. Sure it is more expensive but it was worth it.

I don't trust ticketmaster myself so I will be curious as to how many of those who used it will actually get tickets.

SNAFU pretty well sums it up - that plus a "make-up call" for STH's that ran into nothing problems on Tues trying to get tix through CAM.

my wife just told me she got 2 tickets @1100

she had to do some arguing with somebody and they told her they hadnot released all the tickets and they would release them throughout the next couple of days..she said it was to keep people from buying up all the tickets

I think he meant 11:00 am.

This wouldn't surprise me in the least. They are probably trying to offer it as an incentive to buy a full season as well.

Any idea why they are being sold with a max. of 8 tickets? With only 600 total, that seems a bit crazy and outside of the brady bunch, I have never seen too many families with 8 people. Should be a smaller block so more people can have an opportunity.

On a seperate note... any idea if they are indeed selling more after today? I won't be here, but would be a great present for my nephews or a friend's x-mas present.

My husband and I got to the RBC about 9:00 and we were about 20th in line were able to get two tickets. By my watch, it was a little aften ten before they opened the lines, but I know that will vary. Some people in line were there only for tickets for the game so that helped. We got those too. :) We are so excited about the event. Anyone else here in the Green Goalie Group?

I also thought the RBC staff were very hospitable. The donuts were a nice gesture.

Cool! When the event date gets closer we need to start a thread to see who on the boards will be there and what groups eveyone is in.
